The day they ban more terms you will remember this. This is just the beginning. Why do they care about a single word? They do notThey will start with this word because is hard to defend, but afterwards they will get more political ("you shouldn't talk about those things in wow")Just look up for battlefield 5 word ban list, that's what could happen.
Can they do this in classic too, im tired of being called slurs there.
There is some people that are failing to realize why changes like this is detrimental to free speech.Yes almost any normal person can agree being racist is bad, using racial slurs is bad. But it's not illegal to be racist or use racist slurs at least in the US, and probably other countries too.You don't want someone to police what they think is right or wrong, when you make one step in that direction then what else can be decided what's wrong or right? Here's another take. What I think is right or wrong maybe different from what you think is right or wrong. I think all forms of racism is bad, but some people think it's okay to be racist against Caucasians, some even saying it's not racist when you act racist towards them (what? lol I know it's crazy but it's true) so some people may think it's okay to call another person a cracker because of their color. And this word is btw largely accepted but I think it shouldn't be.You can say I'm right or wrong, but am I really either right or wrong? From your stance I may be either but there is always someone with a different opinion and once you shutdown one person you shutdown a group of people. Instead of enabling a profanity filter, why don't players just A block them and or as well as report them? That would be better for everybody actually because censoring them doesn't change the behavior. If they have a strike system inside the game that gave you 1 strike each time you use a racial slur. 1st offense a warning, 2nd offense a week ban 3rd offense completely banned from that particular blizzard game.Wow I just came up with system actually designed to teach players that there are consequences for their actions.
WoW community: we're ok as a community, we're not toxic at all! Also WoW community when they get their chances to use racial slurs removed: Oh wow this is censorship!
I am good with a reserved word list, but Blizzard should not be the one to reserve the words, unless the player can go in and remove those words if they don't care. Censorship from corporations to protect the feelings of the few is getting ridiculous, just give us the tools and allow us the decision on what we can put up with and not dictate that to us.
Sas, what's wrong with my Pikachu surprised face? :<
Censorship is never good. No matter what.Penalties? Sure. Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences.
