I'm very dissapointed that the path of the titans has been scrapped and I'm wondering about something else. Since the origional point of Archeology was to unlock the path of the titans, will there BE any point to Archeology in Cataclysm? Without the ability to unlock path of the titans it sounds like archeology will be a trivial time waster for cosmetic mounts and gear that will certainly be inferior to raid gear.I'm really unhappy that Blizzard has not just scrapped an interesting system for additional character customazatrion, but has also effectively gutted the usefulness of archeology.
is officially excited :D can't wait for the release date to be announced though:-\
I am still looking forward to exploring all the changes in the Azeroth. I also assume there will be no changes yet to Outland since it is Outland. I am a bit worried about game play changes though. I have a lot of trouble keeping up with those changes. All in all, I expect it to be fun.
I really like the path of titans idea...kinda liked the whole cult ideas, to separate players, I hope there is rep we can start gaining now and hope to see the path implemented upon the release of another expansion. This annoucment really makes me wonder what lvl 85's will be doing instead...also the removal of guild talent points....how will guild be able to stand out from one another?:(
I'm pretty glad they're removing PotT and Guild talents and currency, I was NOT looking forward to the huge steaming mess that was going to create in game. Original, interesting concepts? Sure. Balanced, workable, and fun? Not even close.I still don't like that they're combining 10 and 25 in the same lockout, or that the "extra goodies" you get will mostly come in emblems, but what with being able to buy almost everything you need these days, it figures.
My point is, now they got a schedule to fulfill, when usually first was reaching the game they would like to have, and the time needed to do it in second place. Blizzard allways told his release dates when is sure his games are finished and in production line; unlike others developpers with constant postponement or products upset semi-done.They wanted to release the sure game of the year every 3 years (Starcrat, Warcraft3->Dota:)), not like EA Sports selling the same 4 @#$%ing games again and again every year (NBA Live, Fifa Football...), often every time worse (successors of Age of Empires II).I am not saying that they have taken the wrong decision, but I surprise that they have been late so much time in realizing a bad implementation without exit of a good idea. Prolly this wasted resources now, which might have used, for example, to release a HeroicMode of every vanilla instance for lvl 85.I dont say the new system will be worse in order to play than PotT, but it was a chance to get deeper in your character for long time beyond lvl85 apart the raids, same beginned with achievements but with some real use. Now the Glyphs 2.0, you will get the best for your character and specc, just 5 minutes after dinged the level cap.And archaeology loses a bit the sense, becomming a sort of farm gatheter, almost exclusively orientated to pet-collectors and toy lovers, like myself.I realize that the actual content is almost burned, faster and faster, since we devour epics each expansion more easily, and we want more.I dont think Blizzard is going wrong, i loved vanilla-wow and liked much more his playstyle than spam-expansions and AoEing, I really hope a bit back to origins in playgame, and getting deep in our character´s evolutions, epic heros. If the real implementation is the most functional form, I believe them, and yes, prolly PotT wont work because of all the balance problems. I still hope for a funnier game, hope a game funnier than ever; I relay on Blizzard; It's just that I feel a pity that after so much work, have not found a real way to implement some truly compelling ideas.I seemed bit disappointed and sad by this; at last Blizzard people are not gods. :(
After reading all of this I can confidently say I cannot wait for The Old Republic to come out.
