"While we don’t have specifics to share now, we’re currently exploring all of our options, especially when it comes to allowing characters to persist in some way when the Season ends."So long as I can keep Cloudsong after the season ends somehow, I'm happy. I don't want to start going deep in on something like ranking or Scarab Lord only for it all to be undone at the end of the season.
Really want to see the deleted mechanics bosses had
Great to see communication like this! And a ton of information here
Good stuff. Being that Chronoboon will be in the game, WBs would be nice if you allow them SPECIFICALLY for previous raids. For example, WBs won't unlock for MC until BWL unlocks, then BWL WBs won't unlock until AQ is out, etc. This way, the challenge is present the entirety of each raid's given phase, but allows for clearing past content at a quicker pace, and still allows for some speed clearing (or even just allowing that feeling of trying not to die while in raid when you have your WBs; that was always a challenge).
"While we don’t have specifics to share now, we’re currently exploring all of our options, especially when it comes to allowing characters to persist in some way when the Season ends."This is really important. A lot of people that missed the first time PvP titles/Scarab Lord might want to get them for WotLK. If the characters aren't allowed to continue in the next expansion afterwards it might put-off a lot of players.
I'm curious as to what the definition of a raid is, and also what the exact definition of a world buff is.I'm guessing world bosses can still be done with any and all world buffs active. I am also willing to bet specific "world buffs" still work in raids, like Blessing of Blackfathom, Blood Shard buffs (Horde only), Smitten and Mind Control buffs (Resist Fire/Resist Arcane/Arcane Might etc.). "World consumables" like Jujus and Blasted Lands items presumably would still also work. Every single one of these things could be considered a world buff, but I suspect only DMF/DMT/Onyxia/Rend/ZG buffs are the only "prohibited" buffs. Then we have some unknowns, like will entering UBRS cancel all world buffs? Can the party leader grief/troll buffed party members by turning the group into a raid? Every dungeon besides Stratholme/Scholomance/Dire Maul/Blackrock Depths can be entered in a raid group, so what happens if the group leader decided to suddenly turn their buffed party into a raid? They've also stated Chronoboon Displacer will be available. Will it only become available in Phase 6, though? Since world buffs still expediate many things significantly (dungeons, farming, questing), the displacer would certainly be a nice addition since Phase 1 already, since having to lose world buffs due to raid schedules would be a bummer.
I truly believe that Classic wow was too long at 2 years. I believe that Mastery is too short. Personally I don’t feel incentivized to want to farm out that really good <insert item/gear> Just to see it gone in a year. I think a better timeframe for the upcoming mastery season should be 1 and 1/2 year long. I think that’s a good middle ground where players will enjoy their “treasures” or will want to even raid/farm for their “special item”.
so the chronoboon displacer will still be around but without world buffs. i hope that means no songflower, DM buffs, or other stuff
Perhaps at the end of a season, the existing characters could be transferred a different server?for example (using some random non-wow server names)The Season 3 of Classic starts on three servers: Fireheart, Sandstorm and Hawkfrost. At the end of season 3, the characters from Fireheart, Sandstorm and Hawkfrost are transferred to Silverstream.Season 4 begins with Dovewing, Lionblaze and Jayfeather. At the end of season 4, those characters are transferred to Silverstream as well.Alternatively, they could give all seasonal characters a chance to transfer to one of a few different servers: replace "Silverstream" with "Silverstream, Briarlight or Mapleshade"If they ever come up with anything wildly different that's not really compatible with the other servers (Like... I dunno, getting rid of factions? letting you pick 2 classes at character creation so we can fulfill our dreams of being druidic paladins? Giving everyone 25% more talent points? Dunno! ) they can put them onto a different "retirement" server for similar game modes.
Well, I hope Blizzard is also taking Thottbot into consideration when looking for feedback. So here goes mine:This season seems to be aiming at the former private server audience, which was very fast-paced, knowing that the server they played on might be closed anytime, and they'd have to move on to another server. While that community is still present in WoW Classic, there are also those who want to know that the servers are not going away anytime soon, and that a period of absence will not put you far behind the rest of the server. And since you are already starting servers aiming at the hardcore community, it would make sense to also start servers aiming at the casual community at the same time, in order to properly separate the hardcore and the casual communities. As for the casual community, we do expect the raids to be challenging, but we do not like the stressful feeling that we need to rush in order to not fall behind. We are adults with our own responsibilities, and while we like some challenge, we don't like devoting our real lives to a video game. Therefore, we would like a server that progresses a lot slowlier, and with disabled rested XP, because a lot of us like the Classic levelling experience, but don't like having it accelerated due to the lack of time to play.
they spent more time making up excuses for not doing %^&* than actually doing &*!@.. i might play this but there no in hell im raiding..
So no loot is part of their "make it harder" philosophy. Ok I can accept that. But come on, class balance would be a change we can all appreciate.
Great changes, but its frustrating they are stopping at tiny baby steps towards making the best version of Vanilla. All I want is Classic+: do weekly full balance passes, give busted nonfunctional specs the rest of their kit (prot pally taunt, druids getting an ooc rez, etc..), buff boss, fix the itemization on gear, fix the lame set bonuses and give sets bonuses that apply to all roles, not just warrior gets tank bonuses priest/pallies/druids heal. Don't pigeonhole the tier sets into single roles. Add in the zones and content that got shelved, give us the level 60 Kara that we were supposed to have at the very least. They have the ability to give us the best version of Vanilla, they just need to decide to do it. If people still want to play that busted mockery of Vanilla that was the original release of Classic, the classic era servers are right there, they and the other twenty people who are still playing can go enjoy the "spirit of classic" and wallow in their self imposed misery.
I'd like to see some specs become viable (ret pally, boomkin)
