thank GOD. Mythic raiding will actually be the best place to get mythic raid gear again
Its not helping the whiny raiders.
I'm okay with this - I'll probably try and quickly push to 1800 and accept a heroic level raid ilvl for ages. But I suspect the players who were hoping gear in pvp would matter less are going to be very unhappy.
I think this works quite well. Nothing ever works out the way I want it to. But this doesn't seem Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeee at least.
OK, but please also make PvP items -13 ilvl in PvE, so that raiders and M+ players don't have to do PvP to be able to gear up quickly at the start of the season. The problem in season 1 was that just doing a little bit of PvP enabled people to get a full set of 226 (I think) gear REALLY quickly, whereas getting that kind of gear from M+ and raids took months.
This will make an equal amount of happy and unhappy. This stops PVE players from having to do PVP to get mythic level weapons ASAP. This may stop some of the boosting we see in 2v2/3v3. This doesnt address the problem that the levels in between PVP gear is too high. This creates a new problem that PVP players now have PVE, if they want to do PVE content without it taking ages or stay in WM and risk getting jumped by want every faction has overwhelming numbers on their shard. I welcome the change and hold out hope that they tune it so it doesnt create more problems for PVP players.
SOLO Q! but kinda shame that pure pve player when goes to pvp like bg will die like a total s h i t fast and easy before change any of his/her piece of gear for pvp to survive 1 second longer... soo scalling only pvp gear not pve is just another argue for pure pve players to not play pvp at all...
Still gear is gated by rating so still im not happy, like pvp isnt about gear when you got it, it's all about being the best in pvp instead of being the best at having the best gear
They should do like WoD where there was only 3 iLevel tiers: Aspirant (basic), Combatant (honor), Gladiator (conquest). Things like Challenger, Rival and Duelist should just be about mounts, titles, and tabards. Elite would just be the prestige recolor for xmog.
The thing is, I don't think this actually solved the problem.People were upset because PvP was more viable for gearing than raiding for raid gear. Understandable complaint, honestly. So rather than make raid gear more viable for gearing, they just nerfed PvP gear, while also making getting into PvP from PvE harder. This isn't a real a solution. It's a band aid that causes other issues.
so basically nothing changes for players that do both forms of content. we still need to stack vers which means we need a full set of pvp gear anyway. in pve we will still need a different set of gear. i didnt know the issue at hand was mythic raiders ruining the experience for pvp players only (this was a bfa thing, right?). i thought it was boosters and such. the fact pvp gear is tied to rating. i dont get it man. why even do this.
I wonder why they chose 13 itemlvls? Way back many expansions ago the gap between tiers was 13, but that increased to 15 in, I wanna say, WoD? It was awhile back.
Would be nice if m+ gear and raid gear also followed the same logic, then everyone can focus on the content they want to do without having to feel like they have to do stuff they don't want to.
As a PvPer these changes make a lot of sense to me. I am confused on why this would be a bad thing?
