I'd like to thank God and Blizzard for this rash of much needed changes. I am glad that the children playing this game with themes of violence and genocide can now not be subject to such impure images as those of breasts, vaguely phallic icons, and in game references to a famous and morally bankrupt art style involving nude or scantily clad women. As a good puritan woman myself, I find Blizzard's new direction closely aligns with my own ideals and I can't wait to see what else they remove to appease me and my very reasonable moral guidelines that are exactly what modern gaming needs. I can send Blizzard a list of other sins that are committed in WoW for them to remove from the gamespace if they would like.
Rated M for "mmmmm lets get wholesome"
My post got deleted because it was "not related to the article." I was providing feedback that I was unhappy with this type of article, so I thought it was relevant to the article. I will direct my criticisms of the choice of words of the wowhead writing team someplace else. Can you direct me too where I can provide feedback, rather than the article itself? I thought that would be the best place to provide that feedback, but I suppose I was wrong.
I appreciate the update, now it'll be easier to find in my mount tab. Thank goodness I got it years ago and can actually drag the new icon to my bars. Sorry everyone who hasn't gotten one yet (as in basically everyone else)
I don't care how much you de-sexualize the game. But if you take away my #$%^mogs that I worked for I promise you I will quit the game.
at least this one makes sense
i bet money they'll take every "offensive" reference out the game, but they'll still harrass women at the work place and won't pay them equally.the blizzard way of saying "we're sorry" to the public.
blizzard went from touching women without consent to taking everything remotely related to sex out of the game.honestly, if you are offended by a mount that has the name and icon of a penis, you are living one sad life i'm telling you.
So anyone else wonder when alliance will be banned from the Moonguard realm? Its coming lol.
My theory on what really happened is this: While they were looking for stuff to re-name/change/remove etc., they came to Big Love Rocket thinking of its euphemistic nature. They ultimately decided not to and changed the icon regardless because someone did notice it wasn't unique like so many other mount icons.."Maybe we change the Love Rocket? Seems a bit suggestive, don't you think?""We could change it, but Love is in the Air already has a few other suggestive things, so it's not necessary.""The icon kinda looks like...""Yeah, I know, but then you'd have to replace all the other stuff which I can't be bothered doing.""Hey, while we're here, let's update the icon. It's rare as hell and needs something special like, y'know, every other mount does?""This'll look like a giant pink drill or a rocket when I'm finished with it."
Is it April Fool's Day? Seriously though, I have it on my action bar and was think last night about what it looked liked and kinda cringed.
Overreaching on Blizzard part:The game is rated T for teen by the ESRB:https://www.esrb.org/ratings/29635/World+of+Warcraft/
just let us keep the &*!@# rocket
everyone should just quit try FF online
I spent 12 years getting this mount; finally, it will have an icon as pretty as the actual mount :)Never even noticed it was "supposed" to look like anything inappropriate... thanks for censoring it, I guess?
People in and out of the US will get tired of that medieval nonsense produced by activists and Blizzard (and other American companies) will actually start losing clients and money. Maybe this will stop the mindless activism, IDK, but those crazy literally see sexual motifs everywhere, their mind is broken. I never even thought of that by looking at my big love rocket icon EVERY DAY, this has been my default mount for 4 YEARS, but now I guess I will. Thank you very much (/s) for dragging me into the crazy sex-obsessed world view...This is just beyond ridiculousness. By closing female body parts and removing everything that might look phallic they are actually shifting the society towards Christian variant of taliban or wahhabi. Ultra religious protestants who burned witches in Salem would applause, but the whole modern world thinks: oh, the crank heads from that infamous continent found another fad again.
The original icon was always tacky and tasteless. Good riddance.
