I've posted 3 GM responses here, they are aware it's phased and are working on a hotfix, they have no other intention of changing the way we will have to get rep but they have mentioned it is not supposed to be a long grind.
Simplest solution. Give everyone who completed the Cata quest at any point before July 19, 2018, gets exalted rep. Everyone who does it after the hotfix, is required to grind mobs that give 100 rep a piece. Nothing insane for those who are new or have put the content off for 7.5 years. And fair for those who had it done to get the same treatment as those who managed to get 2 free reps after the pre-patch chaos.
Jesus guys it’s not like you HAVE to get the rep done right now. Blizzard’s clearly figured out there’s a problem so why not just sit back and let them fix it before you keep whining about it?
Some people think this is just a minor thing and others are "whining" (how I hate this word) just for the sake of whining. This thing clearly wasn't intended. If they wanted the questline to award reputation before they would've "fixed" it ages ago. But for some reason they've been putting it off and suddenly changed it in a prepatch of new expansion without saying anything. This thing was discovered by accident.Basically some people have done all the quests in vanilla before major zone changes and thanks to this they were able to complete the questline now. But some people (like me) have completed the zone AFTER the changes thus I am unable to do it again on my main (who has most reputations at exalted). It is a legitimate reason to be irritated. As someone counted, without such "unavailable" reputations there would be 99 reps (counting all BfA ones available at release) so the 100 achievement wouldn't be possible to complete. I'm not saying I would make it to 99 anyway (since I have none PvP reps at exalted) but those additional 2 would be a great progress. The situation of these two centaur reps was like this:1) impossible to progress further than revered (afaik, I cannot even see either of those in my rep tab)2) suddenly a bug fix happens so one short questline awards both exalted reputations3) people who have completed the questline when it was new have no way of redoing it4) Blizz finds a solution which allows people who completed the questline obtain rep by killing mobs who are phased after completing said questline (and it makes sense since the demons are defeated)5) Blizz tries to fix the phasingIf you ask me, most likely hours of killing mobs vs completing a 15 minute questline isn't fair. But yeah, it's better than nothing. And imo some posters here have come up with better solutions, such as adding a daily/making it possible to do the questline again/making Maraudon award reputation.I'm sorry for posting basically the same thing again, I'm just annoyed by this situation.
1st World Problems! I keep reading and can't stop laughing.
Good news, everybody! Or potential good news.A blue appeared in this thread:https://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20766026407So at least it is still on the radar. With people in the thread pointing out they want a fair resolution. I know much of this feels tedious and obvious... However, again, having played the game since launch I've seen all sorts of weird ways these things get solved... and the obvious choice of "what's the shortest path from A to B" is not always what the Devs choose to do.Also, with the herd of cats on fire that is the game right now... If people DIDNT speak up and let the Devs know that yes, this IS a concern that we care about... it would be REALLLL easy for them to go: eh, no one even gives a ^&*! so why are we wasting any time on this? We can figure this out later...and then later never arrives.
