It feels like a forced date release based on pressure from investors/Microsoft who may not care of the quality as long as it releases by that date.from the info so far it seems they arent releasing a whole lot of new systems so that may help with the dev time but will also lower interest. No command tableNo borrowed powerOne new class and race that are mutually exclusiveTalents that are basically existing systems now baked into talentsNot saying those are all bad things, just listing the facts we know so far.my guess is that the patches will contain a lot more NEW info
Releasing this year is such an incredibly bad decision. There will be no time for proper testing, feedback, and adjusting to feedback. (Not that Blizz ever cared about feedback in the first place.)The sole and only reason they're doing this is because of money and investors. They're opening pre-orders now to prop up their numbers this current quarter since Diablo Immortal's China release got delayed, and they're forcing Dragonflight release for the holiday season to prop up that quarter and to cash in on the holiday spending, regardless of whether the xpac is actually ready or not. (It 110% won't be)Be prepared for a third terrible xpac in a row of "we're listening, we promise, we care about feedback, we can balance the game" and complete and utter failure to deliver at all.
They will delay it in November to mid 2023 I guess.Cause „quality standards“
Anyone else find it interesting that they opened pre orders BEFORE alpha/beta I dont think that's ever been done beforeThat seems like a strategic decision to answer the question "how many of our customers will buy this regardless?"Almost like they are gauging the audience
Preorders and a release window without any real content info since the announcement feels really weird.
Again, Blizzard will not release the game on December 31st, this is a Saturday, nor will they release the game on New Year's Eve. This is Activision-Blizzard's end of Fiscal Year. The game will likely release in January or February. The date is given to start driving costs before they close out the fiscal year. So all the purchases now will look good for their sales by end of year (due to there only being 1 major release this year, OW2). They will likely push a delay once an official BETA releases. There is no law that says when an Arbitrary date is given that they must follow through, this was a sales move knowing that the video game industry follows the Tuesday release schedule.
It's too soon, it won't be ready.
That's something I really like about the new pre-order mount's design, that because it's a green dragon and connected to the Emerald Dream it has taken on nature-themed attributes, like antlers instead of dragon horns (kinda like Malfurion).
"Blizzard said they are ahead in development, so it must be true"People should learn to judge situations by facts/precedents and not by (PR) words.BFA and SL have been complete shambles. So I will believe it when I see it, ans so far, I haven't seen much yet. We're not even in alpha yet people, this feels 100% rushed.
There's no chance the expansion will be out on December 31st.The reason why they announced pre-orders this early? They're trying to pad money for their Q2 earnings.Q3 is going to be WOTLK classic, Diablo Immortal, and high probability Season 4 of Retail. Q4 will be Overwatch 2. That alone will have enough sales to outperform needing the WoW expansion launch. Then you also have the new phone game which will be a giant cash cow for Blizzard...Everything is planned out to maximize profits for share holders.
