Did Corruption Succeed in Patch 8.3? No, but as a fire mage was it fun.I think it highlighted some issues to bliz they wont repeat for at least a few patches.
nah
Corruption did very well in making no one in my guild want to play once the boss was dead.8.3 has probably been the worst time I've ever had in WoWI'm so glad once all that %^&* is gone
No. I think the majority of the community would agree that No is the definite answer there.
Corruption was a fun and good addition to the game imo, the only thing i disliked was the vendor rotation. I think it was completly useless, a time gate for people to stay subbed but it would have been great to buy any from the start of the addition of the vendor and just have fun with it, by the time the vendor came out, the expansion was pretty much over anyways. In tldr, corruption was good, vendor was bad.
ehhhh, NOP
I just liked the itemization part of the corruption, was really fun, every week trying to figure out how to optimize your gear. Other than that it was a complete failure. Just on word says it all, Rextroy, proved the failure of the system, with so many and different one shots to pvp and pve.Keep the budget type system, where u have to make a choise what to wear, and dump all the rest
No, it was a hateful, Horrid system.Literally the worst thing ever put into WoW, far worse than LFR and Barrage.
Corruption did succeed in showing that, you didn't need to play your class well if you stack certain corruptions 👍
No? absolutly not. highest levels of demoralization and disappointment
No but, it was fun :D
Define succeed though.. along side visions did it keep people subscribed? Thats the ultimate goal for bliz. Perhaps it did succeed for them.
Using it was fun; but acquiring it? Not so much
I sure did love seeing almost literally every single melee spec have the same breakdown in PvP#1 Gushing Wound#2 Reaping Flame#3 Lash of the Void (if 1h sword user)#4 Maybe a class ability or Lethal Strikes
Personally I think the problem were the really powerful effects like Infinite Stars and Twilight Devastation. If we only had the weaker effects like Void Ritual and the stat boosts then the system probably would have functioned better. Not just for damage scaling but also for randomness.
the corruption system was so fun to play around with, but the way you obtained them was really bad in the beginning, being tied to RNG made a good corruption, as lucky as winning the lottery, wich wasnt fun in any way. the corruption vendor made this a little less frustrating, but the grind was still tedious.
I would say no (most of the corruption was some flat damage procs or haste stacking resulting in huge balance problems in pvp).
Any system that's solely based on RNG will fail. It will fail because no matter how those most dedicated try, it all boils down to luck. Second, a system that makes your class almost irrelevant, as it deals more damage then any of your abilities will also fail. This is the first patch since vanilla where you would auto attack a mob and literally like 7 things would proc at once, just one shotting a mob without using a single ability. That amount of external power (azerite, essences, corruption) is a complete and utter failure from Blizzard and I truly hope we'll never see anything like that again. But seeing where WoW is going, I somehow feel we will. So, did corruption succeed? No, it has failed like nothing else before.
Poor Balance, Bad rng...let's put 3X% of a player damage completely passiv based on a loot that he may never see.A bit better since there is a vendor but ZzzzzZzzz rotation...
