Feels like Blizzard's artists don't get enough credit these days. People (rightfully, imo) complain about different games' directions and even the company itself, but the majority of their artists keep putting out great work. I haven't liked D3 since before the expansion, and couldn't really care less about the new lore of WoW, yet I find myself enjoying the art for both anyways.What remains of the "Old Blizzard" everyone misses still exists from time to time in the artwork.
Yeah art team are still knocking out some great work. The same goes for the music team too imo. There's some amazing music in Shadowlands - "Only Human | New Player Experience" brings back all the feels.
Always love the work that goes into the Blizzard cinematics, the art and animation team (and associated positions) are gods :)
Blizzard definitely being caried by the art team. And also by the enounter team (or whatever it's called. The ones doing the dungeon and raid mechanics or other challenging content.
Wong did an excellent job making Malthael as vicious as any boss.
These posts are straight up porn for a fellow artist.It blows my mind how stuff like this is created and Blizzart artists have always been an immense inspiration to me.I miss character design and wish I had the mental resources to create such finely detailed and fantastical armor sets etc.Also, I wish Malthael had more "screen time" as a villain. He was awesome. But even Diablo was whacked almost immediately after being "introduced."And like... Diablo taking on a more female form because the host was female? Fantastic idea! Imperius' entire appearance? One of my all-time favorite character designs.I love Blizz artists. All of them. Even the shrubbery guy! (Is there a shrubbery guy? If not, there should be. Better yet, a shrubbery lady. BRB swooning.)
