If it was just the shot of the entrance I could have thought it was just a reused image, but the new shot that doubles down on them being Felguards, and the trees on the horizon? Yeah, it feels deliberate, and kinda it feels like AU Tanaan Jungle...So some reusing did happen cause I don't think it's meant to be the same place, but it does feel deliberate it's Burning Legion on a place that might not be Maldraxxus.
Just want to point out here that it was said that creatures in Shadowlands tend to take on the form we are used to seeing, like the abominations for example, so it could be quite plausible to assume that because Draka knew what Fel Guards look like, the creatures shown here could be taking on that form, but that's my opinion and interpretation
It is unnecessary to employ a Watsonian perspective when the Doylist perspective is clear: they were lazy and reused assets at the expense of continuity and immersion.
I think it’s just a reused shot to save on time since it would fit the moment just as well. It’s not a big deal; it’s not really the point.
it's not the only "mistake" in that cinematic, but I hope nobody founds the other one, and let the artists enjoy their master piece
Scene 1: literally Illidan harbingers in a looking glass.Scene 2: map stolen.Scene 3: "house destroyed, my lord"There is nothing in this chain of events to even remotely indiciate these were seperate events. On the contrary they are presented as related. This was lazy reuse. The entire cinematic failed abyssmally in explaining exactly what was threating Shadowlands, why that threat decided to chill and let them solve their civil war, why decimating 80% of the army would help instead of enacting diplomatic solutions, when Draka stopped being primarily a hunter and became a warrior, and why she had to be a warrior to get to Maldraxxus instead of simply playing off her fighting spirit and never giving up, which is what made her so strong to begin with.Just saying… we deserved better. #RemakeMaldraxxus
The link to the BL using the scourge is a good one. I think the partially re-used shot probably does imply the same location, to indicate when that scene took place (and when the intelligence about the Legion was gathered). It might be why the Archon didn't seem concerned when Devos informed her of the Maw magic being out in the living world, with Arthas. She already knew, it was being handled, and it was above Devos' "pay grade".
Draka's Afterlife : After opening The Dark Portal. She went for revenge.Illidan's Harbringer : Outland.Map is same map but time lines are different.Draka murdered by Gul'dan's army. She wants revenge!Be prepare for Illidan V2...
Necrolord covenant tooltip on the SL page says they protect against all threats across the cosmos if you dig around. It checks out.
You're reaching, its simple a re-useing of a model and such 'cause its easy to do.
we DO see some demons in maldraxxus but as captives and I THINK it was implied elsewhere that there are other realms of death besides the ones we go to/see in Shadowlands. my theory is that, since the legion had to have stolen frostmourne and maybe the helm of domination, they might have had an outpost in one of these lesser death realms?Either way, This is Lazy of Blizzard. its fine to re-use certain resources in-game but not with cinematic stuff like this.
The legion invaded the shadowlands to steal the helm of domination and frostmourne. Draka died before they did that and therefore she would have been present when it happened. I believe they are showing us that. The Legion invaded the shadowlands to take the power that would create the scourge, invading Maldraxxus is perhaps where they got the idea. How did they invade? I am not sure, but perhaps there is a physical connection between the emerald dream/nightmare ardenweald.
well aside of the practice of asset reuse. we dealing lorewise with multible dimensions / universes that is much room, erm ...... extremly much room so they could be anywere.

Original honorable Maldraxxus sees that Zovaal and Sargeras are teaming up, while the other houses are all for it. The house that Draka was in was destroyed because of this obvious defiance against the one force that could save the universe (Sargeras). There's gonna be a whole lotta lore bombs and people are gonna be real surprised when we return to azeroth and see what Eonar has done to it. Maybe we should have sided with the jailer after all, lol.
