as a PvE player i gotta say i hope they bring pvp power! pve gear should be good for pve, and pvp gear should be good for pvp! no pvp player should be forced to play pve to get good gear for pvp content
As a pvp player first, im simply losing interest in the game as a whole, because my activity is being walled behind a grind through content that I have no interest in (PvE.) I want to be able to participate in the content that I want to, at high levels, without having to engage in a completely different style of gameplay, so this is a welcome change if they decide to go with it.
Hopfully this will be a play on the 2 set bonus for pvp trinkets from the past. Get PvE trinkets out of arena for good.
I remember starting late season and could grind 25k conquest, took maybe a few weeks at best, however then you had what was BiS, no real tinkering. A friend of mine returned and he has been at it for 2 months and not even close to competitive. He still needs tons of content to do. I even went retribution spec for drest'agath so he got his PvE trinket, that took 3 weeks as well. It's also something inherently bad as versatility as a stat. I don't think a stat should have a defensive component other than stamina and armor. I don't mind bringing back hit either. I liked being experimental with reforging whatnot. As a main healer I have to be looking at 40%+ to even be remotely competitive at higher ratings. Also it's horrible to balance around, especially with the hidden balancing system that is existing right now. Where having the wrong stats somewhere might absolutely ruin it for you and actually make you more squishy. PvP power I feel is fine as everyone taking PvP seriously should have the best gear possible for said content. There is plenty of ways to get conquest aside from rated arenas. Also balancing around PvP power would be way easier. It needs to strike a balance, so that healers won't have to max out versatility like no tomorrow. Playing around with different stats should be fun but as of right now healers got no choice but to go versatility. Same applies to some damage dealers too of course.
Nice, takes me back to my early days on WoW when WoD came out. I recall the PVP gear at the time being stronger than PVE gear, so I went out of my way to farm conquest points until I got them all. Man, the power difference was insane!
Horrible change. Guess people forgot how annoying it was to carry two sets of gear in the bag: one for PvE and another for PvP. Add to that several classes use multiple sets for their specs, and you will have to carry 4~5 sets in your bags (and acquire those, which is a long grind). They were on the right track during Legion, with PvP Templates: make it so external powers, such as Corruptions, Essences, PvE Trinkets, Covenant Abilities and whatever else they add in Shadowlands don't work in Arenas and RBGs, but allow us to customize our stats. PvP Templates had only 1 flaw: predefined secondary stats removes all the flavor of making an unique build for your play style.I'd even go beyond and say they should add Reforge back, to allow us even better customize our characters.
Great change! My main activity in the game was grinding PvP set through the season while getting stronger. I lost a lot of interest in the game when they removed it. I'm hoping that this is real.
Please no. Why anyone would be excited for PVP Power again I have no idea. Do you people not remember how much of a barrier for entry it was?
Should an expansion of BfA, where PvP was the core focus, be the best spot for implementing stats like pvp power?
Oh please no, let loot be loot.
Hopefully this & PvP vendors will make my friends return to the game :D <3
Haven't you guys understood yet that not adding a specific stat for PvP is just a way to make PvP players be ALWAYS behind PvE players? PvE gear is much more farmable than PvP is ever since the addition of M+. It doesn't matter if they add PvP vendor as it's been datamined, there will come a time PvE players will two shoot you anyway, even after farming your PvP gear, which means there's no difference at all between farming on one type of environment or the other. What's the point on that? If you really want PvP to be a thing again, just add a specific stat for PvP, let it be PvP Power or resilence, we don't care. What people miss is excelling on their own environment because they got gear that improves their performance in such environment. PvP players shouldn't be FORCED into playing PvE to excel in PvP, which is not the case for PvE at the moment.

I would prefer not having to collect another set of gear. Perhaps if it was brought back it could be a secondary stat in addition to what we already have that only functions in PVP combat, PVP gear would come with good amounts of this stat baseline and PVE players could use some kind of PVP currency to add comparable amounts to their PVE gear such that they could still get a head start on PVP play with their PVE gear (Ideally have the amounts comparable for the enchanted PVE piece and PVP piece until ranked stuff starts coming in. As a secondary thing to keep some of the power out of gear they could tie a % increase of this stat to the highest ranked rating (2v2, 3v3, BGs). Back to the idea of a currency, alot of people would rather just buy what they want rather then praying to RNG and this would give a way for PVE to catch up without needing a second set of gear. A step further, they could modify set bonuses on gear depending on content (like nyalotha trinkets) such that high ranking PVP gear has a set bonus in PVP combat, while PVE stuff is disabled in PVP combat to prevent PVE gear outshining the PVP stuff for PVP.
