WoW has always been about the gear. It is the primary determinant of success in Raids and PvP. Regardless of how well you can play, if you go into a 3v3 or a Raid with bad gear then you will be targeted by the other players or fail the "Gear Check" mobs/first boss early in the raid. No gear = no progression. This opposed to other games such as League of Legends where it is primarily about ability. If you have the ability then you will acquire some useful gear because you farmed well, etc. No ability = no progression. My point here is that this is a defining feature of WoW. If we don't like it, we don't play it. Simple.WoW is a very mature game. This normally means, for any computer software, that no big rewrites will be undertaken. It would simply court disaster. My very wishful thinking is that Blizzard, in recognising the primacy of gear in WoW, bites the bullet and:* Rerolls all the item levels and stats on all the gear in the game.* Ensures a very linear progression on gear stats from item level 1 through to 90.This would necessarily mean there would no longer be a jump between a previous expansion's Elite gear and the next expansion's questing greens. In fact, what this would mean is that the "expansion jumps" would be discarded.Yes, Molten Core purple's would then still be useful well into BC content. Very few players really care for the distinction between the expansions and the "need" to reward players for stepping up to the next expansion. Heck, with or without purple gear, you will still breeze through most non-current expansion quests.Very few players would even have bothered running MC. They just want to get into BC content asap. With gear normalisation, MC runs would reward players with gear enabling them to face roll lots of BC quests a bit better. So what? Let's reward players for bothering to run old raids. Additionally, do we seriously want to argue against allowing players to zip through old quest content?Naturally we should draw the line at the current expansion. Yes, continue to reward players for purchasing and playing the current expansion. But anything prior to that is considered a single expansion with a few blips along the way where purples can be obtained to speed up the questing grind a little bit.
This is nice! :D
Actually, Heirloom is the term for (scaling) BoA equipment, stuff that your alts "inherit", the rarity was named after that, because initially all Heirloom quality items were those scaling BoA items. It's Blizzard that created the ambigousness, not Wowhead.
I like the idea of BoA loots from the final boss. What I don't like is Thunderforged or Warforged. It is pointless rng that messes with gear scaling. I also don't like the idea that these items are going to be available in Flex difficulty. While I'm sure there will be those who appreciate it, I foresee an influx of people charging gold to carry bad players through to get their BoA epic. Get rid of Warforged loot, have the item level a little higher from the final boss (Garrosh and any heroic-only boss).

heirlooms in raid.. WHAT? xDplease reconsider this blizzard
While it's cool to see the level 60 Horde PvP weapons return, I have a horrible feeling that the following will happen...Horde players will complain that the Alliance will have access to their warlord weapon models from classic.Alliance players will complain that they'll be running around with Horde equipment, and while the Horde could transmog into THEIR level 60 stuff they won't be able to to transmog into their old grand Marshal equipment from that time. And everybody will complain that Blizzard is lazy for re-using old models.I feel it's lovely to see them again, however. I've always wanted to transmog into that Horde barrier shield on my PvE Shammy :P
the 458 crafted / 458 justice gear isn't able to be upgraded. just an FYI Olivia
This will be outrageous if it goes live. Giving Alliance players weapons with Horde symbols. Really? And weapons that look like the weapons that needed considerable effort in PvP to obtain, on top of that. Why have any transmogrification restrictions at all, then?
