Sandworn Chest Key is used to open the Locked Sandworn Chest in the Endless Sands - Zereth Mortis.
The key is created by Assembling 5x Sandworn Chest Key Fragment.

How to get Sandworn Chest Key & open the Sandworn Chest:

Kill mobs in the sand area around the chest and collect Sandworn Chest Key Fragment
When you get 5 x Sandworn Chest Key Fragment you can combine them in Sandworn Chest Key
You can unlock the chest, but it can be in several spots
Sandworn Chests possible locations:
/way 64.80 33,71 1
/way 63.21 26,00 2
/way 61.39 17.61 3
/way 60.90 37,82 4
/way 64.80 33.61 5

Reward is Sandworn Relic and you can buy gear from Rafiq in Pilgrim's Grace at 60.53 51.13
Hint if you haven't collected Domination Cache yet, kill Mawsworn Inquisitor because they can drop a key that has 1% chance drop.

The drop rate isn't even close to what is listed here - I've been farming for over an hour and I have 3 so far. Unless you happen to be collecting as you go trying to farm this is a waste of time.

I've had quite a bit of success with the Sandworn Chest Key Fragment dropping off the Mawsworn Inquisitors (elites) or the Mawsworn Defiler (elites) in the Endless Sands. I only target them if I am farming. Granted, they do drop off other elites in the area (including the rare bosses); however, most in my experience have dropped from the above. They are easy to solo, interrupt them when necessary and it should be fairly easy to kill for most classes. You'll have your key shortly! Cheers! :)

/sigh. Yet another thing to keep in my bags till the item is "complete," which isn't guaranteed. (Especially if I just happened to have picked it up doing other stuff.) I really wish they would think of this when adding such items to our inventory.

I already gave up on trying to make the metal hand mounts in the Maw because it took up too much space.

There are a couple of groups of Mawsworn Strikers in formation facing a Dreadlord Commander down in the dunes that are easy kills that net you 1-3 fragments per clear.

This item seems bugged at the moment. I can't carry more than 2 at a time, but still need 5 to create the key.

Edit: Still bugged, but I found a workaround. You can place them in your bank and then get 2 more in your inventory. When you go back to your bank, you can stack them together.
