This item is still in my bag after turning in the quest. Do I need to keep it?

After completing the quest Cryptograms you receive the item Translated Cryptograms. In it are 10 translated directives for Nathrezim that exist within Revendreth.

1. "Lady Mel'tranix, I charge you with securing information regarding the asset. We must know both of the security and maintenance of the asset's location."

2. "Kisdranath, stall them. Find any way and how to slow the advancing power of the Maw Walker and their allies. If there is a way to choke their economy, do so. If there is a way for supplies to go missing, make it happen."

3. "Nal'ragas, do not kill Renathal. I know you will be tempted but we still need him. And his death would... upset... the Master."

4. "Jennath, be mindful of the forces being sent to the Maw. If Sinfall is foolish enough to distribute forces into that place you must find a way to infiltrate them and ensure their defeat."

5. "Thaliatroven, infiltrate the dredgers. Get to know them. They can go places most cannot."

6. "Mof'ralan, search the archives.

Sinfall is home to ancient knowledge and we must learn of what happened to Kivretan. She has been lost to us for long enough. It is time we recovered her."

7. "Solener, I want a detailed log of all peoples entering or leaving Sinfall, frequency, guard rotation, and so on.

Most importantly, watch the dredgers. We will need them for the final stage of the plan."

8. "Sathrovarr, get out of there now.

Your identity is about to be discovered. Sybille walks the halls of Sinfall once again and she will remember the smell of your aura.

Leave before it is too late, but avoid arousing suspicions. Fake your death if you must."

9. "Mal'ganis, yours shall be the greatest challenge. Infiltrate Renathal's inner circle. Walk side by side with our brother and ensure he comes to no harm.

Endear yourself to the Azerothians and allay their suspicions. When the time is right, we will give you the honor of revealing my plan to Renathal."

10. "Detheroc, if you fail us again I will personally flay you. When Mal'ganis springs his trap, you are responsible for recovering the asset.

Do. Not. Fail. Me.

This is the Master's final order, and I will see it executed correctly."

These are the ten Dreadlords (numbered according to their page # in the book) along with their last known location. This post contains minor spoilers for Shadowlands content after this quest.

Feel free to to reply to this post with more information. I'll update it as I learn more.

#1 - Lady Mel'tranix - Posed as Solivane, the LFR weapons vendor on the lower floor of Sinfall. Killed* by the Maw Walker.

#2 - Lady Kisdranath - Posed as Nadras, a patrolling Stoneborne in Sinfall. Killed* by the Maw Walker.

#3 - Nal'ragas - Posed as Chelra the Bladewall. Exposed by The Stonewright during the Chapter 6 Korthian questline. Killed* by the Maw Walker.

#4 - Jennath - ?

#5 - Thaliatroven - ?

#6 - Mof'ralan - ?

#7 - Solener - Exposed as an innkeeper in Sinfall and killed* by the Maw Walker.
(Fun fact, long-time Hunters: Solener is the demon you fought in Silithus who posed as Nelson the Nice.)

#8 - Sathrovarr - ?

#9 - Mal'Ganis - Successfully distracted the Maw Walker and her/his/their Venthyr allies. Captured after his defeat, and taken away into custody by The Stonewright. Later taunted by the Maw Walker while helping Lady Moonberry on a quest. Later the Maw Walker and Lady Moonberry taunted him inside a cage in Northeastern Revendreft. Threatened the Maw Walker in Korthia with a statement he'd eventually be found with the Jailer. Last seen impersonating the Maw Walker on Zereth'Mortis.

#10 - Detheroc - The dreadlord who stole Remornia from its prison. Escaped with the sword.

* Dreadlords rarely stay dead for long. In the Demon Hunter Order Hall campaign, an NPC states that Dreadlords only die permanently if they are killed in the Twisting Nether.

Sathrovarr... last we saw him was in the Sunwell.
Wonder who he was before he bailed. It happened during our stay, since Sybille didnt walk the halls of Sinfall before we freed it and turned it into the Venthyr sanctum.

.. who 'died' during our stay? If he faked his death, that must've been him, but.. I don't recall any named NPC of Sinfall's dying during our stay.

I took a look into this, and the Translated Cryptograms don't really seem to serve any gameplay purpose. They appear to be used for lore if you are interested.

Otherwise you can save or delete them as you see fit. I hope that answers your question today, take care and have a good rest of your day.

No use in the future, so it is safe to delete. Or you can save it if you are into lore, although, if you are that much into lore you probably don't have much room in the bank ;)
