This will highlight with a purple border things you're able to interact with rather than having them tracked on your minimap.

You do not need to keep this item in your inventory to maintain this buff. It can be placed in your bank and the buff will persist.

Kinda useless item in its current form since it doesn't actually track interactables on your minimap. Instead it will just make them sparkle out in the world.

By the time you are close enough to notice the sparkle you would have seen that the object or NPC is interactable anyway.

This is a useful item, but first you have to find it.
It doesn't seem to always appear on the same vendor from character to character.

Is anyone else experiencing a bug where the buff from this disappears sometimes? Possibly at loading screens and/or log-ins? (not sure about that)
I am able to use the map item again and regain the buff but... you know

I logged in this weekend and my buff is missing. I am currently on my way to my bank to ensure I did NOT sell it like one of the posts stated you could do. >.<

So wait, it doesn't show things that need rubies on your map, or even on your mini-map. It just makes them glow slightly? That...doesn't seem like it's worth the investment.

Edit: Alright, now that I've been in the expansion for a while, I see it's worth it, especially since rubies are no longer a difficult resource to get. If there are specific things you want to buy, definitely get them first, but after that it is worth it. There are little things all over the place you can spend excess rubies on, and for specific vendors you can always just look up where they are.

The buff can disappear occasionally or clicked off. I keep the map in my bag to re-apply the buff. It works by highlighting Anything that can sell items for Rubies. Most items are buffs, but there are also bats and horses to get you places faster...Just Buy the Map

If you have your graphics settings set so that "Outline Mode" is "Disabled" you won't see a purple outline, but you will still see the vendor or item sparkling.

This doesn't work at all, it's likely bugged. Things that need Infused Rubies are not showing up on my map.

I think it's worth noting that this actually doesn't make the items "light up" on your actual map like I thought it would. Rather, they appear in a purplish color (or as others have mentioned- in a sparkling manner, depending on your settings) once you are approaching them. You can see some examples of what this looks like in the screenshots. It is still helpful to see these things light up rather than having to click on them individually though.
