I found timing the Incarcinatrix incredibly tricky at first. I thought you had to use it near the end of the fight, like a warlock's Sould Drain, say. But it only is active for a few seconds, the cast is interrupted if the Broodling inflicts damage on you, and most of the critters died when the casting time of the Incarcinatrix had just run out, so no essence in most cases. With my Rogue, I tried waring the critters down to 300 health or so, then follow up with a quick Eviscerate, but usually I was still too slow.

Then I found out the real trick which I thought I'd share with those of you who have similar problems.

You need to _start off_ the fight with the Incineratrix. Then a purple cloud will evolve around the Broodling and stay for the duration of the fight, and you get your essence.

Yes, that's true, the aggro range is very low.

Rogues have it simple, of course. Just stealth up to the broodling and start casting while still stealthed. Casting will break the stealth, of course, but still that will buy you enough time to get your Incineratrix up and running before the broodling's fireball hits you.

And I guess priests could simply go in shielded to avoid having their cast interrupted.

Very simple as a warlock all you need to do is send your minion on him and use Incineratrix. Also the same can be said for a hunter.

For any class this is simple. The Incineratrix has a casting time less than the Broodling's fireball.. just use it immediately when they start casting it.
