You have a chance of receiving one of these keys upon looting the corpse of an Horde player in Ashran.

Alliance players can use these to open Horde Supply Chest, objects found at Horde capture points in the Road of Glory, as well as Warspear Outpost. See that page for a picture and hopefully some location dots once the data gets gathered. The keys can be looted from the corpses of enemy players.

The chests only seem to spawn every so often, and can be hard to open with enemy NPCs and players around. If you have a key, it's worth checking in and around Horde bases as you pass through. The chests tend to be nestled in among the general props, tucked behind corners or even on top of structures.

Should be noted this link is the better link as it shows you the locations of the chests you can unlock. Seems to only include 3 items that can be only used in the Road of Glory. I have received two from looting Horde players. Once by myself once in a raid.

Have yet to open one, but seems to be where people get the said items. Kinda wish it had more gear, or somesuch.

Where to obtain: Looting enemy players corpses in Ashran.

Purpose of item: Unlocks Horde Reward Chest, located in various areas around Ashran.

Rewards: Some examples of items obtained for the unlocked chest are:

Nesingwary's Lost Horn - Send s a stampede down the middle of Ashran, knocking enemies high up in the air.
Frost Wyrm Egg - Sends a Frost Wyrm down the middle of Ashran dealing damage and freezing enemies in place for 8 seconds in PvP.
Scroll of Invoke Yu'lon, the Jade Serpent - Sends Yu'lon down the center of Ashran, healing all allies to full health and removing Magic, Disease, and Poison debuffs.

I've found the best place to find the chests is Emberfall tower. One can spawn right outside of the tower, one can spawn on the 1st floor inside and another can spawn on the top of the tower. They tend to respawn after you kill High Warlord Volrath.

I've now looted three keys. The first opened the chest and I got some loot. I don't remember exactly what I got. However, the last two keys I used, I opened the chest, nothing was in it and the chest despawned.

Anyone else having this issue?

If you're looking for chests, there are absolutely assloads at the horde side's prison. If you have a stealth you can easily do this, if not you can wait for a Vol push and run past to hope no horde single you out.

Gives the message, "You cannot use that in a PVP instance."

Same for finding and clicking on any of the chests with the key in your inventory.

Apparently it's been like that for a while, but nobody was surprised enough to post.

I noticed I still have one of these as well other items from Ashran, they are useless after 8.0 aren't they? Maybe they we're overlooked and possibly should have turned grey even?
