The guide you’re reading was put together by The Red Rogue. I’ve been an avid World of Warcraft player and rogue main since 2005, with more hours invested in Torghast than I’d willingly admit. I have various achievements under my belt including several Cutting Edges, Keystone Masters, Gold Dungeon Challenge Modes and as a personal goal, completed Twisting Corridors solo on the first week it was available as well as the Flawless Master (Layer 12) achievement on the 9.1 PTR, Flawless Master (Layer 16) on the 9.2 PTR, and for the fun of it- Layer 12 flawless runs using a Racing Wheel.

Hey there just letting you know there is a couple extra point categories that you've missed. (I don't have their exact descriptions)
Hunter: Don't let any enemies reach 4 unnatural power stacks +15
Highlander: Don't receive any duplicate powers +15
Also the "Robber" works with the ravenous cell so you can just use 250 phantasma on the broker for 400 phantasma and that will help you get the "Hoarder" points while also getting the 5 points from the "Robber". However be aware that in a group the phantasma for the "Hoarder" points is higher(1000 total across your team on 2 person) and the phantasma from using a ravenous cell on the broker is lower (250 each on 2 person).

When you say, kill boss in 20s/40s, is that 20 points/10 points per boss killed in that time frame or, does only the floor five boss count for the bonus points?

Tower Knowledge received by a an individual drops by 20 for personal deaths. So it's possible to get completely screwed by circumstances if you're the one person that gets hit by the one-shot mechanics or the tank overpulls because they can survive the ensuing calamity but you can't. Zerg tactics are right out -- you're better off not releasing and letting a fight finish rather than coming back and risking getting killed agin. Will mean a lot more solo runs until this is fixed as everyone has to be on the same page as far as strategy.

Freeing all soul remnants, do the ones on the floor count that fly away after you run over them?

Has anyone seen a glitch (specifically seen in Upper Reaches today) where a floor has mobs on balconies around and above that are unreachable - and count against your completion? We ran multiple times and cleared everything we could and still finished at 60/65% on that floor.

Anyone know whether the Empowered bonus applies to the Time score if you're Empowered as you finish a layer? That'd be a big deal if so.

Does anyone know if you only have to complete one of the open towers (i.e. Skoldus Hall) on 4 star rating, to unlock next layer in another tower (i.e. Upper Reaches)?

If you use the empowerment buff on the guardian of the second floor, and enter the third floor with the buff still active, you are guaranteed a 100% empowerment bonus from floor 3, as the timer stops on that floor while you are taking your shopping break.

This hole mess of points is just guna make a short hand, aka just aim to do X as the rest ends up being more trouble then its worth for the spars points, then in turn making the point of the points, pointless as the first focus will be points too unlock over anything else.

The randomness is quite frustrating. Have a mostly great run, but no treasure chests or helpable people spawn? Oh well, no perfection for you. I suppose there's no real rush to it so having to do a few more runs to get maxed out isn't awful, but frankly I was bored of Torghast a few weeks after release and the little annoyances do add up.

Does anyone know if there's a way to check your highest score (or even just gem total) on any given wing after completion? All I can see is "Defeated (Layer 9)" when I hover over the skull on the Maw map, but my senile brain can't remember what I got on either wing.

Looks like the maximum number of Bonus Points possible is 14, in theory, and 13 in practice. Annihilator and Executioner are mutually exclusive. It's nearly impossible to get Collector without giving up Highlander. Killing the vendors using Shoplifter drops one of each Obleron bonus, which will get you over 30, but overlap other Obleron powers. So I'd be surprised if anyone gets 14 Bonuses.

And of course, sometimes you just get screwed and cannot avoid picking up a duplicate or an Epic. That's randomness for you!

It's a shame that background enemies that are far off in the distance that exist strictly for the purpose of being part of the scenery count against your score since you have no means of reaching them

Please note that if you get the boon that grants 5 Assorted Obleron powers, those 5 powers do not count towards "Collector" or against "Highlander" bonuses. I finished with 32 overall powers and 7 Obleron powers and didn't get those two bonus. Also, picking up a rare power with 3x Obleron does NOT count as duplicate powers for the "Highlander" bonus, but I haven't tested if it counts as 1 or 3 for "Collector" but prob 1 if consistent with the boon.

Do Vault rewards scale with Layer level? Like higher chances for soket/conduit in L12 than L10?

I honestly hate the one condition which requires you to not take any epic powers. This score system should never be telling the player how to do your run. Like, avoiding traps, DUH, of course, that's inherently something you wanna avoid. But taking epic anima powers? If anything, you should have a score bonus for being able to afford several!

i did layer 9, had 1 death, at end boss of layer 2 i used empower right before killing and then did layer 3 cages and pots which gave me 100% bonus for layer 3. used first empower on layer 4 asap and then saved up second one for last boss on layer 5 right before it died for another 100% bonus. gl!

I just completed a run with 500 Phantasma exactly and didn't get the 'Hoarder' bonus, so it might require you to have more than 500 phantasma at the end, not at least 500.

I'm so glad I came here, such a dummy. I was getting so pissed off at the 90% phylactery destruction bonus as I thought it meant I didn't break 100% of the urns! Wasted so much time double checking I got them all. DOH!

The actual test of Togast’s Extra Points on CN Servers

Annihilator：Floor 5 boss killed in under 20 seconds：20
Actual test：
It can be obtained by killing 5 bosses within 20 seconds, but the “executioner” is not obtained.
Conclusion:
If you take an Annihilator, you can’t take an executioner

Collector：Collect at least 30 Anima Powers：10
Actual test and Conclusion：
1. Single Tower Climbing Mode
First time: Climb the tower solo, the final panel of 30 Anima Powers (including the Obereron resistance x3 once, which means that a total of 28 Anima Powers are picked up, and no soul remnants and disillusionment Anima Powers have been obtained. Or other items that cannot be seen on the panel), the "collector" is not finally obtained. Summary：the Obereron Anima Powers of x2 and x3 should not be calculated directly according to the statistics of the panel, but should be based on the real The number of pickups.
The second time: Climbing the tower solo, in the presence of blessing-"Armed" 1 set of basic Oberelon equipment (crit, haste, proficiency, all-pass + 3% each), in this case again Acquired 26 individual Anima Powers, let the panel count to 30, and finally did not acquire the "collector". Summary: Blessing-"Armed" is not a count of the power of the heart.

The fourth time: Climb the tower solo, the final panel of 30 Anima Powers (including the Obereron amulet X3 once, and the panel statistics can not see the two heart powers, plus 300 disillusionment heart power Once, add 10 soul remnants once), and finally get the "collector", summary: 30-2 (Obler amulet X3 once, count as 1 pickup) +2 (add 300 disillusionment heart energy once, add 10 soul remnants once , A total of 2 picks)=30. Summary: Verification of the third test.
Final conclusion: Blessing-"Armed" is not a count of the power of the heart. "Collect 30 kinds of power of the abyss (heart power)" means the number of pickups, not the total count of the panel.
This conclusion is almost close to reality. If this conclusion is true, then there is a contradiction between "Blizzard's game panel UI interface statistics", "Description of bonus points acquisition" and "Program judgment for bonus points acquisition". The interface statistics "and the description of the bonus item acquisition" are modified, for example, a data is added-the number of times the heart energy is obtained, so as to avoid the misleading of the "panel heart energy" to the player. (The player thinks he can get this bonus item, but when he finishes playing, he finds that he didn't get it.)
2. Double Tower Climbing Mode
Two people climb the tower, one of them meets the above conditions, and the other hangs up to obtain the "collector". Conclusion: Only one person in the team needs to meet the acquisition conditions.Conclusion:

Daredevil：Defeat 2 Elites within 10 seconds of each other：10
Actual test：
2 golden dragon elites die within 10 seconds, 1 golden dragon + 1 silver dragon elite die within 10 seconds, 1 golden dragon elite + one guardian golden dragon elite die within 10 seconds, can be obtained.
Conclusion:
The above three conditions can be obtained. When a 5-person team climbs a high-rise tower, it will increase the difficulty of obtaining the "hunter" in the passing car to obtain this Extra Points.

Executioner：Floor 5 boss killed in under 40 seconds：10
Actual test：
It can be obtained by killing 5 bosses within 40 seconds.
Conclusion:
It can be obtained by killing the boss within 40 seconds.

Highlander：No duplicate Anima Powers：15
Actual test：
It can be obtained by climbing the tower by one person; when climbing the tower by two persons, one person has no duplicate Anima Powers and the other has duplicate Anima Powers，finally It can not be obtained.
Conclusion:
It is necessary for everyone to no duplicate Anima Powers.

Hoarder: Defeat the floor 5 boss with at least 500 Phantasma remaining (Note: Phantasma required will scale up per member of your party!): 10
Actual test：
A single person needs more than 500 Anima Powers to climb the tower. It should be noted that it is equal to 500 and cannot be obtained, at least 501; double tower climbing, single person <500 heart energy and total remaining heart energy of the team> 1000 can be obtained.
Conclusion:
When the team's remaining Anima Powers > Number of people x 500, it can be obtained.

Hunter: No elite enemies reached 4 stacks of Unnatural Power: 15
Actual test：
All elite monsters (Golden Dragon and Silver Dragon Elite on each level, guard boss on each level, boss on each level) will have this buff, and it has been tested that when the buff of the elite monster is greater than or equal to 5 levels, the buff is cancelled by exiting the battle and then killed again,cannot get the Extra Point.
Conclusion:
When opening monsters (when elite monsters enter the battle), they will fight fiercely. All elites are required to have never ≥5 buffs to obtain this Extra Point.

Pauper: No epic Anima Powers:10
Actual test：
It can be obtained by climbing the tower by one person; for climbing the tower by two persons, one person has no epic Anima Power, and the other person has epic Anima Powers and then,has not obtained it.
Conclusion:
It is necessary for everyone to have no epic Anima Power. If the five-person team cannot guarantee the acquisition of "Hunter", " Annihilator", and " Executioner” (ranked by difficulty), they can give priority to this point.

Pillager: 90% of Ashen Phylacteries destroyed:5
Actual test and Conclusion:
No difficulty.

Plunderer: Opened treasure chests: 5
Actual test：
There will be 1 or 2 treasure chests in a single climb on the 1st to 4th floor of the tower.
Conclusion:
One score is 5 points and two scores are 10 points.

Reinforced: Collect at least 5 Obleron Armaments of the same type: 10
Actual test：
Oberelon's Anima Powers is required to be equal to ≥5. It can be obtained when one person climbs the tower; it can be obtained when one person meets the conditions and the other person does not meet the conditions.
Conclusion:
Only one person in the team needs to meet the acquisition conditions.
Remarks:
1. Reinforced requires five layers of Oberon. Five layers of other Anima Powers have not been strengthened.
2. After our test, the conclusion is that when the 5-person team is currently waiting to play on the 12th floor, if you want to get both “Reinforced” and “highlander” at the same time, you need: "Team Contributors of the contributor’s strong points are strengthened by means of 3+2 (instead of 3+1+1 、3+3 or 2+2+1), and the contributor’s other Anima Powers is not duplicated, other members of the

Having done these on lots of alts, I find the timing thing quite frustrating on my aff lock who has high survivability but doesn't kill anything quickly. Also no speed boost as I don't use burning rush as a talent. No matter how many times I do huge pulls, waddle along as fast as I can, use auto loot, I don't come anywhere near the times for points so don't get much tower knowledge, even tho I've done 100%. Have yet to come anywhere close to getting to the vaults.

Thanks for the information on scoring and empowerment in this guide. Also found your guide New Torments and Blessings Comings to Shadowlands in Patch 9.1.

I'm disappointed with the introduction of the new Torghast point system :( I've been running Torghast solo since the beginning. With the introduction of the point system, I find it better to just exit Torghast and start again if I have more than one death. The original Obscuring Essence Potion - the add-a-death-count potion sold by the vendors should be reintroduced as a subtract-a-death-count potion. Completeness and time now replace strategy. Used to be you could selectively skip mobs if you got the anima cell buff which allows you to see which NPCs are carrying anima cells and obtained a Mawrat Harness. Now you need to earn Tower points (awarded according to the new scoring system) to buy buffs that will help you get through future Torghast runs alive.

Thanks for the information on scoring and empowerment. I suspected time and completeness were part of the scoring. Unfortunately, class and spec affect how fast you can get through a floor and how well you can manage mobs and mobs with elites. The floor layout and anima cell choices also determine how likely you are to survive.

Questions:

Have you figured out under what conditions is a player likely to get an NPC guardian? I used to enjoy getting a new follower now and then. And have you noticed whether the NPCs scale up for parties?
I noticed that cosmetic shoulders were available for a few weeks at level 9+ but I'm not seeing them right now, even if a character does well. What am I missing here?
I'd like to see basic lists of Anima Cell buffs, Blessings and Torments to use as a fast reference. (The mouseover provides the definitions.)

What I found:

If you've gotten a low score, you can immediately rerun the same wing on the same character and increase the amount of Tower Knowledge and Soul Ash you receive.
If one character achieves a score of 4 out of 5, all your toons can go to the next level in all Torghast wings.
The special Torghast events still occur: Beasts of Prodigum, Unbridled Darkness and Chorus of Souls. These are fun and very helpful in advancing to the next level.
Check your blessings and torments at the start. I keep disregarding the "Brokers can be attacked" blessing (which is a picnic basket) - and lose completion points.
Floor 3 (broker floor) doesn't seem to be timed, so you can take a short break there.

Collector seems a bit inconsistent, I've finished runs with 31 anima powers and gotten it and runs with 34, 35 and even one at 38 which didn't award it...
