Last month, Wowhead staff made a decision to rebrand the Profiler, enhancing the most useful parts and incorporating them into a new tool: user wishlists. Parts of the Profiler are in the process of being transformed into this new feature. In the interim before launch, you'll see that parts of the Profiler are still up and working, such as the quest and recipe trackers. When the new list/tracking feature launches, the current version of the Profiler will be decommissioned.
If there is a resync issue, please contact feedback@wowhead.com or check out the
Profiler FAQ
. If you would like to see what one of your characters is in the interim, type in:

Since Mists of Pandaria has many types of content for different playstyles--vanity items from exploration achievements, transmog sets, battle pets around the world--it made sense to have a tool in which you could make savable item lists either for fanciful things you've yet to collect, or from your in-game characters.
What's been happening on dev servers in the past month:
Useful parts of the profiler that will be integrated into the new version have been updated and tested, such as mount and pet collections.
The unused and outdated parts have been removed from the framework--menus and UI.
The devs have met with designers about the brand-new features--new layout, buttons, navigation bar.
Work has begun on the new wishlists tool, which I check in on every few days.
Other MoP Features
Battle Pets
: We really like our battle pet map, but think we can do more on the actual battle pet pages and filters. We've gotten some great suggestions from users, and as a pet collector, I have some ideas as well. This will require more dev time and less manual work than transmog sets--good news for me, but means we have to wait for dev time to be freed up after the Profiler.
Item Upgrades
: We're pretty happy with how we've integrated item upgrades into various features and tools, but want to look at an XML issue and tweaking the formula further, as Blizzard's formula is not public.
Transmog Sets/Same Model As
: The new
5.2 Troll sets
led me to modify the existing Amani transmog sets to show more color options and add the original level 70 ZA gear for reference. The datamined PTR items have been added to the set code, but they won't show up on sets until the patch goes live.
Many users also ask why the Same Model As tab can't be refined to only show identical items. After revising the transmog sets for over a year, everything listed under an armor slot on a transmog set page should form a complete "Identical item" list.
Guides
: The guides for 5.1 content are in great shape: we'll be updating the information on MoP launch content and transmog basics very soon.
Bug Fixes
: Since Mists of Pandaria changed data in really subtle ways, the devs and I have been dealing with unexpected quirks as well. Random stats changing basic amounts after 7 years, trinket procs scaling across ilvls instead of using distinct spell IDs, achievements requiring new ways to display criteria, to name a few. I give the volunteers a list of bugs addressed every week, and it's a pretty random list. Some things I can personally put a bandaid on with a LUA fix, but other things (like that annoying Dread Wastes map), seem simple to fix at first, but require a lot of dev time.
Anyway, many people have been asking about the transitional state of the Profiler, so I thought I'd clear things up and talk about some other things going on. Thanks for reading and Happy New Year!(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##perculia##DELIM##

I'm sure several people will be highly appreciative of this thread, including me, Perc. Thanks! :)

Is this the reason that my characters are not syncing with the site? I have tried to resync my characters three different times and it says that I am in the queue with a wait time of 2:15 hours. Yet, it never syncs? I am new to this site, so please forgive me if I am confused.

That is the reason yes. Bear with us and hopefully you'll find the new tool does everything you're looking for.

So where can I find this new tool: user wishlist?
It's in development, not yet accessible to the public.

Is this why none of my characters show up at all in the Profiler area? I can pull of a list of many of my toons, but when selected to see in the Profiler area, I get nothing.

Can you please be clear (I'm sure you think you are, but based on my own confusion and questions written by others, you are not): Is the Profiler in its old iteration available right now? Or is it removed until the new one is implemented?
If it is still available, why doesn't it seem to be working? If it is not, then why not just write a message saying that it is not available until the new, improved version is implemented and not have it possible to request a sync with Blizzard, which never happens.
Thank you.

The profiler is still available for use... but not all of it functions correctly at all or only some of the time. Basically it's "use it if you can." Since the profiler has been "discontinued" and is being salvaged in other ways it's not being updated to fix changes that Blizzard has made in the behind-the-scene processes that allow the profiler to function. So, as time progresses more and more may stop to work while other parts continue to function as always.

An announcement has been added to all the /profile and /profiler pages stating that the profiler is in the process of being redone and that the old version is available to use, but isn't being updated as we prepare to launch the new feature. This should help clear things up.

Great to hear about the progress!
Unless you're already planning this, please also convert existing custom profiles into these new wishlists!
PS: Since transmog plans also revolve around hair/fur colors/styles, could we get a way to change these in the 3D preview, preferably even save them as part of the wishlist?

Thank you for this explanation & for all your work. I was beginning to wonder WTF was going on with the huge Armory re-sync time, having returned to WoW & WoWHead after a couple of months' break.
I resolve to be virtuous, in your honour...

Nice. Be looking to this.

Thanks VERY much for posting this info on the profile pages. One suggestion though..."rebranding" sounds too much like a word that might be used by a politician.
Wouldn't "re-designed", a time-tested descriptive, be much less "smarmy"? :-)
