Heres some fatty
bites
from razorcale.
The rest got reset.
I'll post some more tomorrow.
2% total damage-increase? /gasp :-P
If you have problems keeping the various stacks running, I wouldn't attempt it. Should you, however, be in a perfect position to use the FB, go ahead.
Will see what I can conjure with today's Ulduar-run.

you took Primal Precison didnt you? thats
only
a 2.5% dps increase.
2% more damage is
more
damage. dont knock it.
GoSR
is only 3%... why bother right?
You make no sense.
Stop trying to belittle the fact that using FB is not only good for dps.... but fun!
Who.. (aside form wildhorn) doest like
big crits
?
The way this whole Ferocious Bite debate is held, it's like Ferocious Bite is the new messiah. I don't knock it, I know it's a DPS-increase
if you can pull it off correctly
.
And I do use it, the times the planets align correctly. :-)

A balance druid in my guild last night was using some website (will ask them what it was later) that would break down exactly how much of a dps increase each buff gave them.I'm interested. I know how to get those values through wrathcalc or simulationcraft, but they require us to do the % conversion ourselves (and another source of information is never bad).

On the topic of FB, you guys should try do something useful maybe, like start a thread discussing the crit% that makes working in a FB finisher viable. Or with a given crit%, how many seconds you need on average to have left on your other finishers to safely use FB without dropping the 2 priorities. Not easy things to model given it relies on both crits and OoC procs, so that sort of discussion might actually be useful.
It makes me sad to see an entire thread on the topic of a known troll that sunk to his level and stayed there in the gutter with him for 2 pages. It's a bit tragic really.

We didnt sink to his lvl..
Picture us more as angry villagers with pitchforks, driving the troll out of town!
As far as crit rating needed.. just about any druid not in blues can do this.
Certainly not as often., but there is no reason why you cant fit a fb iside a berserk window.
If you cant, you are doing soemthing seriously wrong.
Pretty much
only
during berserk actually, which equals 1 FB every 3 minutes. Blue geared ferals will have about 35% crit, right? That totally rules out FB outside of Berserk. The 50% or so a raid buffed Naxx geared feral will have is an entirely different kettle of fish.
Going into how the gear affects the use of FB, and also how to best take full advantage of lucky strings of OoC procs with any given gear level would be an interesting discussion imo, but this isn't the thread for it...
*resigns. reaches for pitchfork* :-)

I fit two FBs in between SR and Rip refreshes last night :). Just once. It was fun. I had to call for a salv.

If you want to get technical, FB is taking the place of a shred, further reducing the DPS increase to maybe .5-1% at most(at 5000 dps, 1% of it is only 50 dps).
BUT, it's still good practice. I use it(when I can dps without worrying about tanking an add....) in my dps rotation. Everyone should be learning how to use it, and when it would be acceptable to use it to increase your dps instead of screwing up your "rotation."
Seeing a difference in your dps between using FB or just the standard SR/Rip only would be totally RNG based. This means, you WON'T see a difference. So, if you are prone to screwing up your rotation, don't use FB. If you got the skillz, use FB.

Ferocious bite was 6% of my damage. /shrug I find it more entertaining to weave it in anyway.
