Why the aggressiveness?

All of these areas- Teldrassil, Darkshore, Elwynn- All of them used to be peace-loving places that only heard of violence or war from predators. And no, not those types of predators. But then they all changed. Teldrassil had high spring floods that caused an overpopulation of some beasts and a moonkin (or at least close to moonkin) sudden aggression. Darkshore had a plague and a demon infestation. Elwynn has a... well you get it. Why, though. I mean it's not like Deepholme is melting Northrend, causing high floods in Teldrassil and degrading the waterline in Darkshore, causing a plague from some bears that got caught at high tide and allowing demons to come in, was it?

The melting of the ice cap wouldn't affect Teldrassil much. It's a gigantic tree. Almost all of the parts you play in are among the very highest in all of Azeroth. The troubles there are caused from Teldrassil being planted without proper blessings, making it sick.
Darkshore and Ashenvale were left mostly empty by the Night Elves when they moved to Teldrassil. This allowed 'predators' to creep in. The Naga are newcomers due to recent events. The demon infestation you see stems from when the whole world was invaded. The demons are remnants of those who fought in the Battle of Mt. Hyjal
Elwynn Forest suffers from similar problems. With the Stormwind armies out and about, there aren't enough to keep the lands free and peaceful, which gives work to adventurers. Gnolls and kobolds creep in and settle.

HyjalProbably didn't help to have the Emo-King eat the skull of Gul'dan and cause the massive corruption that he created during his battle with Dreadlord that made Felwood the "happy and joyful place" it is today(note that is thick sarcasim).

Yea. Its weird how Felwood was suppose "to heal in time.."
Wait a minute, I thought Felwood was corrupted before the battle of Mount Hyjal for some reason...
Plus, it was Nordrassil which was to heal in time, the WC3 Cinematic refers specifically to the World Tree if I recall correctly.

It was corrupted before Hyjal, Arthas and Kel'Thuzad tricked Emo-King into eating the skull to defeat Tichondrius(sp), and after their battle was over, Felwood was destroyed, and then Hyjal happened and all the rest just steamrolled so they never got a chance to fix it.

I thought it had been corrupted for thousands of years for some reason. :S

Illidan said that the forests would heal. Now that I put some though into it... I believe that Shadow Council kept the corruption going, can't let the green flame die rite?
And we all know Illidan is just a font of knowledge heh. Don't forget, this is the same person who convinced himself that he won that fight with Arthas, and the Death Knight leader didn't leave him broken and shattered on the ice. What is real, and what Illidan thinks is real are two very different things.

Am I the only one in the world who likes Illidan?
I do! I think that Blizzard leaving Malfurion out of Illidan's demise was a mistake. D:
But, Malfurion was not prepared!

Illidan is a putz, he's always been a putz, he will always be a putz. The one good feature is his Talking Skull Puppet, but beyond that, he's a putz.
Seriously though, he's taken the whole "I'm in love with my brother's girlfriend" thing waaaaaaaayyy too far. He willingly betrayed his family and friends just to prove he was the stronger magus, got his eyes taken away from him by Sargeras, then spent 10k years locked up because he was a power addicated putz. First thing he does when free is chow down on a demon artifact, corrupts an entire section of Kalimdor, then makes a pact with a freakin Demon to get more power.
And like I said, he convinced himself that he beat Arthas and didnt get the royal hell kicked out him, which proves his mind is gone.

Malfurion's not much better?
He gets the girl, what's the first thing he does? Romantic Dinner, Tyrande and Malfurion:
Tyrande: *swoons* Are those horns real?
Mal: Yeh, I got a gift for you by the way.
Tyrande: Aaaaw, you shouldn't have!
Mal: It's alright, It's a cake with a giant sparkler in it.
Tyrande: Um...Illidan told me you were a little obsessed with explosions, fire and all that jazz.
Mal: Shh! It's just us two. So, I'll just light this Sparkler.
Tyrande: That's not a sparkler! *reads*
Gadgetzan's explosive love rocket. Guaranteed to put the spark back in your love life. Please point upwards.
Mal: Meh. *points towards the Well of Eternity.*
Tyrande: Umm...Is that such a good id-
Mal: Shut up, woman! I've got an idea. That Aszhara girl is so plastic, let's see what this does.
Tyrande: No Mal, she's just like us!
Mal: Pfft...
*KABLOOM!*
Next thing:
Mal: Honey, I'm tired. Put Illidan in jail, and I'm going to sleep.
Tyrande: What about me?
Mal: ZZZZZzzzzzz
Tyrande: I knew I picked the wrong brother.

But Illidan is actually a character you can have emotion for. Malfurion is just...meh. Especially since War of the Ancients. Yes, Knaak. *boos and hisses*
I agree Flying, in WC3: TFT , it was Illidan who ordered the Naga to save Tyrande, not Malfurion. Just shows who cared more...

I don't know.... sending Vashj to save someone she had already tried to kill once?
It's weird that I do hate Illidan, normally I like the all powerful beings, but there's just something about what they did to him that made me wish I could have just left him die in the Battles I played as him during WC3/FT. Seriously, when Arthas wtfpwn'ed his arse in Icecrown I cheered.... then I watched it again and again, just because I was able to.

Which again, is more than Malfurion. Vashj wouldn't have let Tyrande die, I think she wanted to do *ahem* things *cough* with Kael'thas and Illidan. Illidan would have rejected it if Tyrande died probably.
