Go do the quests in Borean Tundra, at a minimum. Death Knight's Anguish , despite being green, would be a remote start. There are plenty of decent trinket rewards in Northrend without needing to rely on something so useless for tanks.
Cobalt Bracers?
Sword of Heartwrenching Slaughter?
Jayde's Reinforced Handguards?
Urgh, spellpower ring?
I'm pretty sure Munkles would have mentioned the latter too, if he weren't as preoccupied with everything else. There's plenty of space for you to improve with Tempered Saronite stuff. Your bracers are a level 70 unenchanted green item. There's no excuse for not upgrading it.
If you really want to be a tank, then you need to be prepared for the investment. Tanking is the most expensive thing you can do in a raid as a Paladin, second to none. You're a Miner, so Titansteel shouldn't be hard to obtain. Take the hit, find a blacksmith and start crafting.
I don't have my epic flyer. Instead of spending on my epic flyer, I bought or crafted:
Titansteel Shield Wall enchanted with defense.
A Tempered Titansteel Helm.
Tempered Titansteel Treads.
A Titanium Earthguard Ring.
To get off my Cobalt Bracers, which I had socketed with a Defense gem as a BS, I replaced them with the Bracers of Dalaran's Parapets.
And I made sure I did my dailies and picked up the Teldrassil Protector.
Total cost: maybe about 3000-3500g, on a PvP server, plus the time to get the axe. But then, I also did the Wyrmrest Accord dailies to get the chest and the cloak too.
I didn't have the bracers when I tanked my first heroic. I had a defense skill of 542. I blew away all my carefully hoarded stocks of Titansteel that I'd saved up since I was L77 or so, and still had to buy more. I then subsequently blew away the next couple week's worth on Ret gear, so I could gear up by running heroics as Ret, and picking up tanking gear on the side. At the moment, I feel overgeared, but I know my avoidance is low, and that I need to replace my high defence Saronite gear with heroic drops and come down from 552 before I can think of running Naxx10 even.
Don't expect to be able to take any shortcuts. Tanking isn't supposed to be easy. Unfortunately, you've got no excuse for walking into a heroic under the defense cap. You can't walk into a dungeon or heroic thinking "I think I can do this with the gear I've got". You have to walk in thinking "Damn straight, this'll be a cakewalk", because unlike the DPSers, you can't really be carried.
Edit: One more thing for anyone who might have armory'd you. You haven't done a single heroic on your Paladin yet. That's probably enough to tip a pug over the edge, if they were inclined to think you might possibly have had a chance in finishing a Heroic in your gear, because you haven't finished one in any gear on this character.

meh.... damn......not what i expected to hear but i can take it.
You seriously didnt expect people to tell you to enchant and gem your stuff for tanking and get minimum tanking requirements? Have you read any of the beginning tanking guides?

And just to add to that long list of "here's the gear you want"... (Tempered Titansteel, Tempered Saronite, Titanium Earthguard).
Your glyphs are terrible. Exorcism and Hammer of Wrath? That's Ret, not Prot. Choose from Divine Plea, Righteous Defense, and Seal of Vengeance.
Your spec needs a tuneup. TbtL is a core threat talent, second only to 1H specialization in value. You can dump two points from the top of the tree (Divine Guardian isn't all that useful in heroics) and a third from Crusade.

Make sure you focus your gearing priority on Defense until you hit at least 535.
Tempered Saronite would upgrade quite a few slots, and Daunting Legplates are a better choice for legs (a little less HP, but a lot more defense).
Get the defense enchants for chest, wrist and shield, and put +sta on everything else.
When you're trying to get started in heroics, focus on def first, then get your HP up as much as you can- as you refine your gear, you can work on your avoidance and threat.
If you check my profile (prot wishlist) only a few items require running heroics (belt and legs). Everything else should be things you can get on the AH or from faction grinding.

I'm surprised no one mentioned this. You are Honored with Argent Crusade, Knight of Ebon Blade, the Kalu'ak, and also Friendly with Kirin Tor and Wyrmrest Accord.
I would purchase the following asap:
Kalu'ak:
Ivory-Reinforced Chestguard
Knights of the Ebon Blade:
Toxin-Tempered Sabatons
Wyrmrest Accord:
Cloak of Peaceful Resolutions
Get the following crafted:
Bracers:
Tempered Saronite Bracers
Gloves:
Daunting Handguards
Belt:
Tempered Saronite Belt
As everyone has said, goal is to get 535 Def at the very least. You can get there with enchants and yellow def gems if you need. Then work on bumping your health after that.

I would also purchase the Daunting Legplates, and I also realized you could get a nice HP boost by using a second Sonic Booster for your trinket.

Id like to think squishy and I overall have a pretty good working relationship here. I make the claims and he posts all kinds of numbers to make me look like an arse...
Aww, I love you too, munkles xD I'm not that bad, am I?
I was going to mention the Titanium Earthguard Necklace, but I actually don't think I have one at the moment. I think I'm still using the Betrayer's Choker as well, but that's more from a budgeting perspective - I really cbb crafting more for something that represents only a minor upgrade. I skipped the Tempered Saronite Bracers, because it represented a 5 str, 6 stam, and 5 def rating improvement over the Cobalt Bracers, or something fairly insignificant.
I'm fairly certain that it's in a Prot guide somewhere, but we should probably have a 'minimum starting heroic gear' list somewhere. The 'don't even think about it unless you're this geared or better' list. Or at least a 'minimum stats' list - I don't think we have one of those yet.
