Anything but gear score. That's one of the most useless metrics around.

Definitely shouldn't be switching marks just because people online say to. If you love SV, stay SV. Feel free to try Marks, and probably better to do so sooner than later so you can have time to learn how it plays and find out if you enjoy it or not. But ultimately, go with what you are good at and what you enjoy most.

Marks becomes viable when you have Grim Toll and around 620 base armor penetration. With Mjordnir Runestone you can do it at around 500.
I disagree. I think it's viable much earlier than that.

You really don't need the 100% armor pen for MM to outperform SV.

From reading EJ, it seems that the spreadsheet on femaledwarf.com was already updated with a rough change to help reflect the LnL buff. Not enough information has been gathered to get a truly accurate formula, but the rough change is better than nothing.
Here is Rivkah's quote:
For now I've upped the rate on FemaleDwarf.Com to 12% while I'm waiting for a better formula or more accurate number.
FWIW my SV spec is still 300 DPS behind my MM spec even with the buff to LnL.
What's probably more disturbing for SV are the EP values that I'm getting. I think they really reflect just how much better MM is scaling with gear right now. I'm getting the same or more DPS per point in almost every meaningful stat with my MM spec vs my SV spec, and some (like ArPen and weapon DPS) significantly more. Surprisingly, even agility is nearly a wash.

Eh I'll wait and see for a more accurate LnL chance. Some have suggested it is as high as 20%!
Yes, outside of the 22 second global cooldown, the proc rate seems to be 20-21% at the moment. However, you are going to have alot of ticks of BA that occur during the GCD that will not be able to proc LnL.
The 12% estimate is alot closer to what people are seeing in WWS logs during a normal raiding environment.

can nobody understand that sometimes Blizzard does, in fact, balance out specs?
Yes, who ever said otherwise? The point is that SV is going to fall further and further behind MM as gear levels improve unless there is a buff to SV. Nobody is saying that the buff will never occur.
If you can handle SV then do that, if you can handle MM do that. I have one of each spec depending on if my raid needs the extra replenishment, or based on what boss we're doing (if we keep switching targets I go SV, like in the 2nd ToCr fight, if we're generally on just one MM is nice).
MM is actually great for multiple targets as its talents increase the damage of Volley, and the damage and crit rate of Multi-shot.
The real drawback to MM is that it's much less mana efficient in small groups where you lack replenishment. SV has a definitely edge here being able to provide it's own replenishment.
Gear is special and all, and with 100% ArP (haven't done myself yet, but I hear) is really crazy for MM, but you really need to look around and see who the other 9/24 people in your raid are, as well as what you are fighting.
That
is what will get you the most DPS.
Unless I'm needed to provide an important raid buff, I'm going with whatever spec cranks out the most DPS. Nothing complicated involved in it.
