I switch a lot between my characters (points to my profiles i have uploaded :) )
You like to play a lot of alts? I've always felt that alts are sort of a waste of time. I like to keep maxing out one character so splitting my limited time makes it feel like I get no where. I suppose that's just how I play though.
my problem is I can't decide who to work on, they all have fun things you can do....but ya its hard for me to focus, I am currently trying to refocus on my NE druid lol.

Achievements? They don't really help you in game so I've felt disconnected from them.
No disrespect intended, but how does raiding help you in game, or farming gold for that matter? It really comes down to what you consider 'fun' or 'progression'. Achievements can be just as fun as raiding, but it depends on you, and your preferences. Who knows, if you aren't having fun raiding, maybe its worthwhile re-evaluating your goals in WoW?
Try to focus on different things, head in different directions with your gameplay. Instead of better gear or more gold being your target, aim for certain achievements, pets, or whatever. Redefine your ultimate goals. If you can get your head around the concept, you might find the game rewarding in entirely different ways.
I've reached this sort of crossroads before, and I personally found it easier to make this kind of change while
not
part of a guild. Then once I'm comfortable in my new objectives, I look for a guild of like-minded people. It works for me.
I don't know, that's just my advice. After reading your original post I felt I understood your feelings from my own past experiences. This is just what I do when I reach these points in WoW. It's one of the incredible things about this game, the depth allows you to explore entirely new angles of approaching it.

Lets assume that you could do one of two things. Out of curiosity would you, A max out a single character, or B have multiple level 80's. Essentially in a run down is do you consider yourself hardcore or casual type of gamer? Time played isn't an indication and I'm curious.
well for me, who ever I get to 80, I will stick with them till I get a albino drake just cause they are cool :P, so ya probably gonna start with that first one.
