What is the Burning Legion Doing?

Most of the Alliance/Horde forces are in Northrend waging war against Arthas. Huge resources are being put into this effort. Not to mention Ulduar and Yogg-Saron. So why is the Burning Legion not taking advantage of this opportunity to do something?
And if the Burning Legion attacked Arthas and the Alli/Horde, would they cease hostilities temporarily to fight this new threat?
from what I understand its like this:
Alliance hates Horde, but hates Scourge more and Burning Legion the most.
Horde is the same.
Arthas hates all the living, but especially despises the Burning Legion.
The Burning Legion hate all equally.
There is nothing that brings two forces together better than a common enemy. Does the Legion know this and that is why they are doing nothing? Are they just biding their time for Arthas to be killed so they don't hae o face another immensely powerful Force?

They may appear in the Icecrown Instance at some point, hopefully something badass will happen! :D

Lolz the Burning Legion is the BIGGEST thread to the Old Gods and as vaanvern sad the Burning Legion is nothing compared to the old gods.Thats why the Burning Legion never stay too long in Azeroth if the come (the old gos WILL eat them).Nut if we players keep weakaning the old gods we will ssoon seethe end of Azeroth. And then there is Arthas, the old gods are our only sereious defence against the BUrning Legion and if they die Arthas will more likely die trying to Kill hte Burning Legion just because he wants to.

Duh, the reason why the Burning Legion isn't taking advantage of our fight against the Scourge is because we just pwn'd them in The Burning Crusades. While they are not ended completely, we did knock Kil'jaeden back to wherever the hell he was coming from and tore Kael'thas' head from his body (although that just may be a minor set back).
So while the Burning Legion is licking their wounds, we then go after the next threat to our existance: the Lich King and his Scourge, as well as Yogg-Saron and whatever old god is
currently
trying to wipe us out.

From a certain point of view, we
have
allied with the Scourge. Sure, the Lich King himself had some close calls at Light's Hope Chapel, the Wrath Gate, and the Cathedral of Darkness. And, yes, we've taken Utgarde Keep, Drak'Tharon Keep, Naxxramas, parts of Azjol-Nerub and Icecrown, and a few of the other Scourge citadels. However, we've also done a magnificent job of ridding the Lich King of his other rivals in Northrend. We slew the Aspect of the Blue Dragonflight, eliminated the threat of Yogg-Saron, unwittingly helped undermine the Drakkari Empire, assassinated the leaders of the Scarlet Onslaught, and thanks to inter-faction squabbling, have contributed a heaping load of fresh corpses to the Scourge host.

Adashiel, your statement is both very true, and horribly depressing at the same time. It just proves that no matter how awesome we are, we are still pawns in a galactic chess match.

Adashiel, I doubt that we "eliminated the threat of Yogg-Saron". It is my personal belief (and the belief of many others) that either the Lich King was CONTROLLING or at least allied with Yoggy...

yep. i say arthas should give us all a cookie for doing all of this for him.

The Lich King - Yogg collusion theory has more holes than substance to it. Azjol-Nerub is a battleground between the forces of the Scourge and Yogg-Saron. Furthermore, there is an Alliance quest in Dragonblight where you indirectly learn about Yogg-Saron by the Scourge cursing his name. I wouldn't be surprised if the Scourge managed to awaken him with saronite mining, but I very much doubt they were in any way allied.

The Burning Legion might have razed both Thrallmar, Shattrath, and Honor Hold, as well as slaughtered all resistance at the stair of destiny. They meet little resistance ( a few lvl 62 dks dont count), cause you all are extremely busy with jumping in and out of a instance portal that only displays "Additional instances cannot be launched" Blasted lands might be filled with demons, and more and more keep pouring through the portal.

***Spoiler Alert****
Actually after just finishing the war of the ancients trilogy, i do believe that the old gods in fact Tainted Neltharion(Deathwing) made him create the Dragon soul, and wanted the legion to destroy life on azeroth and set them free.

The Burning Legion was boned hard by both the Shattered Sun and the Scourge, if you weren't paying attention during the Fury of the Sunwell.
Anyways, Sargeras isn't dead, so you're sadly mistaken if you believe we've seen the last of the Legion.

Ultimately, I believe the Lich King is primarily driven by his obsession with the Legion. He's (correctly!) identified it as the greatest threat the universe has to offer, and is simply doing whatever it takes to defeat it. If that means conscripting every last being in Azeroth and beyond, so be it. So what if this requires robbing of them of free will and transforming them into undead monsters as bad as the demons he opposes? Sometimes you've got to break a few eggs. The Lich King probably even believes everything he's doing is for the greater good, and the whole Dark Lord of Evil schtick is just a regrettable necessity. If we'd only joined his cause willingly, like the vrykul and Cult of the Damned had, all this unpleasantness wouldn't have to happen.
