Dom, this isn't a dps thread. This is about tanking, and I was simply explaining that there are more viable option of tanking. BTW, anyone who has had a ret pali multi crit burst damage or in my case (hunters who have no idea what Feign Death does for threat). Knows that building threat quickly is fine. Granted Grimnacht is correct at some point it's useless to worry about threat, but UBA is not in and of itself a life saver. Glyphing for a random rare occurrence seems kind of counterproductive.
However, I will say this on XT if you need to tank both adds and the boss. You are probably not going to down the boss that time, and the extra mitigation will save you for a few seconds, but as soon as it's done you are wiped anyways.
No one is saying I am in a super guild we are far from it. However UBA is simply a situational glyph, while other glyphs have more customary usage whether to increase dps which is a very nice bonus on bosses like XT where you want them to die as fast as possible or threat increases like RS. BTW, FS/Oblit are not similar glyphs.
Grimm, this thread was started because alot of people were hammering me for not recommending UBA glyph, but rather recommending against it. This has nothing to do with threat generation and has more to do with added dps vs minor mitigation glyphing. My response was while it's a decent glyph for Offtanking multiple adds the mitigation on single or dual target tanking is so low it's not even worth glyphing when you can add a substantial initial threat generating glyph or an added dps glyph, both of which have higher worth.

Dom the thing is, is no one, me or Eleazer, have said that UBA glyph is useless or "not a tanking glyph". On the contrary, if you're OT UBA glyph is quite helpfull as you will be getting hit by 3+ mobs multiple times so the extra mitigation is quite nice.
Now I do agree that its also opinion based, but even me, who hates fallowing numbers and all that mumbo jumbo, sees that FS or RS glyph proves to be more usefull once u get past heroics and into naxx25 and on.
Again you're right, in a way we are all right about this. I say, like you, let people read the discussion and choose for themselves.
Actually, I did say it's not a "tanking" glyph. I stand by that statement. DnD is a tanking glyph. It is a very useful Tanking glyph, though it's not necessary. Rune Strike is a tanking glyph. UBA is a situational glyph or pvp glyph. Designed for as dom puts it in extreme circumstances. That is what makes it a situational glyph. Tanking the adds on ignis and XT are situational tanking situations. A Tanking Glyph is one that can be useful if you are tanking in any role, not just situational or dire last second no one else to do it.
