my idea of a twink is someone with two 450/450 professions under level 10.

I'm someone who has always enjoyed doing BG's while leveling, to get away from mindlessly killing mobs and questing. Back in vanilla, turning BG tokens was quite a substantial part of how I got exp.
Because of this I've encountered quite a few twinks, some were very pleasant to play with but they were the exception. The majority of twinks I encountered were as other posters have said; mindless e-peen waving, gloating about victories that can only be attributed to their gear and messing with the flow of games to suit their selfish desires.
I have nothing against twinking itself, but I do have a problem with people who use the gear they've aquired to make other players' BG experience less enjoyable. Whether it's intentional or not, the consequences are plain to see and easily solved.

I have a level 19 priest twink. Truth be told I enjoyed playing with the twink when and only when its a BG full of twinks and my friends with there twinks came along. We usually did defense, a rogue, hunter and priest twink.
Twinks are usually made by people who get bored at top level instancing. Twinking is like a stress reliever since you're just fooling around and cant really get any stronger. Its fun from time to time.

And now instead of twinks dominating new-to-BG players, we have scrubs who have four+ heirlooms to their name.
What's the difference except that no one can put smug heirloomers in their place.
I used to twink, but it became such a chore to find a single AB in the 39 bracket with exp off, that I quit. It used to be a lot of fun. 3-5 twinks per team hopefully leading everyone with their pvp experience with 10 underlings to guide around.
It became a game of strategy and wit instead of a mindless zerg-battle.
Now we're back to unorganized BGs that contain players who will pretend to play, but just be afk-running while getting experience.
Furthermore, my issue with 80 pvp vs. twinking is that provided you're remotely intelligent, you can get all the gear to twink alone. Gathering professions for 1000 or so gold, stop at 35 to finish out quest-grinds for necessary gear, purchase what gear you need, pug dungeon runs for your last few items, and buy enchants for them. It was a process anyone could do.
What's more, this gear was still entirely pve, so you could do more than just pvp with it.
When you hit 80, the game branches in two ways- pvp and pve. The two do not interchange unless you want rather mediocre DPS(which some people are too okay with) or rather mediocre pvp playing.
The advent of resilience ruined pvp for me because it meant gearing in an entirely different way. I don't like resilience because the people who are high-end at pvp can murder the people who don't yet have max pvp gear. The crux of the issue is that in order to get better pvp gear, you need to win at pvp against the people who already have great gear. As opposed to twinking, wherein the pvp battles gleaned you no advantage over other players(sans the one or two pieces of half-decent gear that could be bought with BG marks). The majority of twink gear was earned through pve, so it wasn't a cyclical pattern of regression.
That's my issue with this whole song and dance.
