I distinctly remember seeing the fish we were about to eat being slaughtered before our eyes somewhere in rural China.
It was a damn huge fish (I had no clue what it was. Pretty tasty though).

Russian chocolate is delicious.
Otherwise, I've sadly lived within the border all my life. I envy you. Although, I gag watching people eat oysters, I'd love to visit other countries and try some dishes.

Yes, I do understand that =) a lot of things are tastes acquired. I still remember when I first tried pizza (in China, mind you, back when I was very very young), I almost gagged on the cheese. Same thing when I first tried medium rare steaks, and even apple pies. But not anymore.
I still can't bear to eat snails, though...
Haha, yeah. I can imagine snails are... an acquired taste. I don't know how you gag on something as delicious as apple pie though. ;) Ever tried frog legs? Heard they actually taste like chicken...

And I think it's the amount of sugar in the apple pie or something. But I love apple pies now. (Cherry/Key Lime Pie more, though)
There is a ton of sugar, true. Black berry is teh best, sir. (However Cherry and Key Lime pie are amazing too.)
