Something I would really like to know is... does the campaign affect other quest NPC's? I mean, storming Solitude with a fairly large amount of angry Nords, I can imagine casualties in the lines of quest NPC's. And I surely wouldn't want to see that, at least not before I finish all the quests.
Not really, since most of the civil war campaign is fought via indirect battles.
Lemme elaborate: Riften is a city of the stormcloaks, well at one point in the campaign you gotta storm a castle near riften, and once you take it, next time you go to Riften, there's empire guards on it, and so on........
during the entire civil war campaign you gotta storm forts and castles near cities of the oposite faction, every one you capture, will replace the guards of the oposite faction with guards of your own.
the exception is the final quest for either side that has you assaulting the capital of the other side (Capital of the empire-loyal forces is Solitude, capital of the rebel forces is Windhelm) But for these quests you assault........ lets call it "Phased" versions of these capitals.
When I attacked solitude, it was in flames, and several buildings were destroyed, and there was no civilians anywhere (Since they evacuated) only empire soldiers inside. The Civil war campaign ends when you kill the leader of the oposite side on their capital, so once you kill Tullius on Solitude, or Ulfric on Windhelm, the civil war is officially over. Leave the battered city for 3 days, and when you return, its rebuilt, and NPCs are back, and everything goes back to business as usual.
Also a new Jarl is installed on each city you capture, including the capital.
So you can do the civil war campaign without having to worry about it affecting your other quests. Can't say the same about the main campaign, once dragons are unlocked, they can attack you anytime and anywhere, and will kill civilians if you happen to be in a town under siege of a dragon.
The only difference between doing the civil war campaign before, or after the main campaign, is that at some point of the main campaign, you gotta negotiate a truce treaty between both sides due to something important that you gotta do in Whiterun. So you gotta make both sides meet you at a neutral place, and make a deal to both sides. If when you reach this point on the main campaign you have already finished the civil war, then the truce quest wont be needed. I highly advice to do the main quest BEFORE ending the civil war, as that truce quest is really cool.
I also relise it is way too early to be talking about this since we have at least 2 expansions plus Fallout 4 to get through before the next game comes up. But I really hope Elder Scrolls VI takes place in Black Marsh. I would love to have a game that explores Argonian culture, where you can travel around creepy swamp lands, join the shadowscales (maby even go to Morrowind again). Plus it would be a new perspective since it would be the first gane to technicly take place outside the empire.
I actually hope the next one takes place in the summerset island, so we can kick some Thalmor ass, I really hate those guys.

I wonder weather Skyrim will have succeeded from the empire or not as far as the official canon goes. I really dont want another ass pull like that whole Warp in the West thing to explain the multiple endings for Daggerfall.

Btw anybody found a good place to unload tresure? Ive had a bunch of gems and dragon parts cluttering up my inventory and I need a vendor with a lot of gold to unload them all.

yep, wonder about that too. Most quest-chains have 1 ending but the civil war chain can end either with the empire victory and thus the unification of skyrim, or the rebel's victory and thus skyrim becoming independent. It would be cool if other companies did what Bioware did with Mass Effect :P import your savefile in the sequel, and presto, that savefile determines which ending is canon.
as for the vendor thing, I just sell everything to multiple vendors if they run out of gold, its not like the game has few of them.

Elder Scrolls is too lore heavy, wouldnt really work, especialy now that they are getting more EU novels. Plus depending on how big an impact the Thalmor and the war has on the next game they might wind up having to write two whole new campaigns.

Also any idea if its possible to get Daedric weapons without blacksmithing? I need me a fine pair of Daedric daggers, and I have done almost no blacksmithing at all, and Im not looking forward to leveling it >.<
And are you sure about the Wood Elves being slaves? From what I understood the second Aldmeri Dominion began with an alliance between the Sumerset Isles and Valenwood.

what one side calls "alliance" the other calls "slavery" :P this has been a historical fact in our world for ages.
terms like "Indentured servitude" were invented precisely to avoid looking like a slaver even if you are one.

Yea but its made pretty clear that the Dominion conquered the other provinces under their controll. I could be wrong, but I think it first started when they formed a strait up alliance with Valenwood. You may be confusing it with the first Aldmeri Dominion from the second era in which the High Elves conquered Valenwood.

wow, the random events on this game are just awesome =)
I was strolling along the woods hunting for a white stag, for a miscellaneous quest given to me by a dude in an inn on one of the minor villages. Since there is no quest-marker for this quest you gotta stalk the woods to find the white stag and hunt it.
Well, while prowling in the woods, I stumbled upon a bandit camp, with about 4 bandits on it. Just as I was about to shoot them with my bow, a necromancer lord attacked the camp, and began to kill the bandits while saying "I need new puppets, just dont resist" Once he killed them all he raised them as undead, unwilling to allow that abomination to go unpunised I shot one of the now undead bandits killing him and began fighting the others. As the bandits attacked me they were all like "Sorry" "I must obey"
When I killed the now undead bandits, they said "Thank you" "rest at last" only for the necromancer to say "FOOL, no matter, your bones are as good as theirs.
its random events like this that make this world feel alive =)
also you can avoid getting a bounty on a region by killing the witnesses :P since I saw a group of 3 imperials escorting 2 stormcloak prisoners on their way to execution, I shot the first imperial, got a 1000 gold bounty, killed the second, got a 2000 bounty, killed the third, bounty was removed because there were no more witness to my crime.
Much better than on oblivion where if you killed a random group of guards in the middle of NOWHERE deep in some forest, somehow every guard in every city knew about it.

I was walking through some sort of hot springs area, and there was this dude and his woman relaxing in the hot springs. Their clothes were folded up on a little rock island next to them, along with their tent and campfire. There was even some folded up towels (i think) on a chair near them, and a bottle of wine. It looked romantic. The dude looked at me and was like "Can I help you?"... like the game character was hinting that I was interrupting their fun.

gee you think? xD my new evil necromancer character I created would had slayed the girl, raise her as undead, and then force the boyfriend to kill her or her to kill her former boyfriend (its hinted that undead ARE aware of what necromancers force them to do)

Since I'm a good person at heart, I always strive to play as a good-natured character, and always do the right thing. Then after beating the game, I play it again as a polar oposite of me, someone who is a complete monster.
The one exception is Mass Effect :P because being a renegade is so awesome, I was a renegade on both games from the get-go. However while I picked the renegade options, those that involved being corrupt (like accepting bribery, or looking the other way on criminals) or racist, or cruel, I avoided them.

I use video games to channel my cynicism so I'm slightly less likely to be a total ass in real life. :P

well, after starting a mage character, I gotta say :S THEY ARE SO OP! >.<
not only their skills are absurdly easy and fast to level, they also hit like a hammer, :S
Illusion = Spam muffle over and over, and in 1 hour you got it maxed.
Conjuration = Spam soul trap on a corpse and in 40 min you got it maxed.
Alteration = cast waterbreating over and over and in 1 hour its maxed.
Destruction = find a ledge and an enemy that only has melee attacks, and use any destruction spell (doesn't matter if you dont hit the enemy, just use them while in combat) and voila, in 1 hour they are maxed.
Restoration = same as destruction, find a place with a ledge enemies cant climb, spam a heal spell till its maxed.
I created a mage character 7 hours ago, and already have all 5 schools of magic maxed out, and that's not even to say taht these spells hit like a truck. My Daedric dagger with enhancements and enchantments hits for 70 on my first toon.
On the mage........ basic fireball = 57 damage, and this is one of the most basic spells.
