Same old class question...

I'm a relatively new WoW player... I leveled my first toon (a shadow priest) to 26 before I got frustrated with it. I've leveled my second toon (a BM hunter) to 67... and I find myself getting bored with it as well. I think I just haven't found the class I love to play yet.
So, my question is this:
Do I continue to level my hunter to 80, so that I can earn some badges to buy the heirloom gear with XP bonus? Or do I bail now and give another class (which I may not like) a try?

Try rolling a Death Knight since you start at level 55 it might not be quite as bad as starting from level 1. If you start from level 1 I would recommend a druid.

I have a hunter too. I leveled to about mid-30's by questing. Then I got levels granted by Refer-a-friend to 60. That was before pets auto-leveled to within 5 levels of you, so... yeah. It was cool in some ways but totally sucked in others.
I got to level 70 and then I got completely bored. I would have deleted my hunter except for some reason I had given the Zhevra mount to that character. I had seen hunters standing around town with those incredible spirit-beast pets, and decided to set that as my goal. I would level through, even if it was boring or annoying, until I got to the point I could tame that pet.
And I did! I then had no reason not to finish the last 3 levels to 80. Sadly, Beast Mastery is inferior for raiding so I made a survival-spec to be able to raid. I actually enjoy playing my hunter a lot more now than I did at 70, and I'm glad I didn't delete it.
I say all this to give you some ideas to think about. Maybe taming a rare pet doesn't motivate you. What does? Set a goal, and work up to it. Maybe "getting to 80" sounds overwhelming on the surface.
OK, so at 67 you are one level away from the lowest level quests in Northrend. One level is a small goal to set. Try for level 68, and then check out the quests in Howling Fjord or Borean Tundra, whichever one looks interesting to you.
Maybe a change of scenery and quest styles will help. I tried leveling in BT, and I HATED it. Changed over to HF and enjoyed it more. Some people feel the opposite, HF makes them want to chuck the monitor across the room, and BT is fun for them!
What are your professions currently? I found leveling my professions was a fun way to work on my character when I was tired of questing, plus you can use it to make gold.

Stick it out to 80. It's better to have one geared character to help with the lower level ones, than many lower level ones.
The Heirlooms are a bonus, but not vital.

Yea, I wasn't so much thinking of
deleting
this toon, as setting it aside to find something else to be my main. My professions are Mining and Engineering.
I had already been thinking about jumping into Northrend at 68... I was just wondering if it wasn't a waste to get this guy to 80; but I see the point that endgame raiding may feel completely different. What's been keeping me going for the last 10 levels or so was the thought of heirloom gear to make my next leveling experience less painful.
I think I'm partial to the caster/ranged classes, but my only melee experience is with a Druid at level 17... which tbh is kinda tedious.

Wow, yeah druid at 17 IS tedious!
You get cat form at level 20 and WHOA what a difference. Adding bear form is a huge deal at ten, adding cat at 20 is when things start to get fun with a druid.
You can stealth up behind stuff, do combo attacks like rogues do, and stuff just dies FAST. If you need to, pop out of cat form and toss off a quick heal. Poof! Back to cat form and off you go.

your problem may not be the class but the role, give tanking or healing a try
I'd recomment grinding those last levels on the hunter to 80 as an 80 will help all lower level toons via boa gear, ease of aquairing gold, and cold weather flight at 68
but yeah, maybe try a tank or heals
roll a hybrid and switch it up now and then
role a druid and realise how absurdly awesome they are and never log on another class again
druid
1-10 as caster, 10-20 as bear, 20-40 as cat, 40-80 as dire bear or boomkin, pick whatever at 80
