I won't bother looking at your spec and gear.
It's up to you whether you want two prot specs or not. My guild asked me to have a viable DPS offspec. It started as Arms, then I switched to Fury when I got two Justicebringers.
My Fury gear is getting quite good, but I have no illusions that I'll top meters in it. I take gear as offspec, which means I'm usually at least half a tier behind the main DPS in the raid.
Maintaining two sets of gear is hard. I really wouldn't put much focus into your offset until you are in a raiding guild and in a position where you might be asked to DPS and actually somewhat carry your weight.

i will definitely always keep my dps offspec. the flexibility is much more valuable than a 2nd prot spec would be for me. if i am doing progression content, my tank spec is survivability and i just leave it at that. once content gets farmable, i'll spec into some more fun talents (i.e. more tank deeps).
i do put a lot of effort into doing well when dps'ing. i expect myself to be able to switch to dps and hold my own. as arms, i can do ~5500 with 25-man buffs while being somewhat lacking in gear. certainly not enough to compete with top mainspec guildies, but enough that i'm contributing and earning my dps spot.
as a raid leader, i will always prefer someone who can fill two of the three roles in a raid, and do both well, than someone who can only do one.
