PvP - Fel Armor vs Demon Armor

Heya. :)
I've started pvping with my lock recently, but I can't decide what buff to use;
Fel Armor
or
Demon Armor
...
I'm playing affliction, so I already gain plenty of health through
Siphon Life
and
Drain Life
, and my gear does not have spirit on it, so I wont be getting any bonus spell power from it (except the basic 180).
So I figured if Demon Armor would be greater, since I will get more armor (good vs melee players) and more healing through Siphon Life and Drain Life (and of course
Health Stone
).
Any help or suggestions would be great. Just remember that I don't have all that fancy pvp-gear yet, I'm quite undergeared actually... :)

Both shields are instant-cast, and so Skragg may have the right of it, choosing the right armor for the right situation. I've just scanned two Warlock PvP guides for "demon armor" and "fel armor", coming up with nothing, and so I'll give you my personal recomendations. One gent who worked the math
stated that
Demon Armor and Fel Armor were about the same for your returned life. Demon Armor, by increasing your personal healing. Fel Armor, by doing more damage, and returning a greater amount of healing to yourself.
My only thing is, I haven't really felt much of a difference in the armor increase from Fel Armor to Demon Armor. Especially, when having a Rogue or other melee class beating on myself.
However, with Fel Armor on, you are constantly regenerating HP (when idle between engagements) and you have a nice little spellpower boost. Which, means you can
kill them
slightly faster, by doing more spell damage.
And, my take on Warlock PvP is that groundpounders should
never
be touching my squishy, Warlock body. And so, I alternate Fear (or Death Coil, or Howl of Terror, Succubus Seduction, Teleporting, etc.) with damage-dealing spells. Damage-CC-Damage-CC.
I wonder if the argument could be made to use Demon Armor against spellcasters and Fel Armor against Melee... maximizing your own strengths against their own weaknesses? Especially, since you will NEVER out-armor a melee class, and you will NEVER out-burst a Mage.

I'm pretty positive that argument can't be made...under any circumstances. Just because you can't out-armor a melee class doesn't mean you make it
easier
for them to kill you. PvP is about survivablity, more so for an affliction warlock.
Oh, also, the health you get back from the Fel Armor ticks is every five seconds. 500 something health does not outweigh 2100+ armor plus an increase in all healing received.

as has been said before. You need to be looking at switching armor as and when needed. Taking damage? go demon. dishing it out? go fel. Think a bit like a warior learn to "stance dance" a bit and you'll find that it comes automatically.
It's basically a case of needs must. Your armor / skins are all helpful situationally. Use them as intended and you cant go far wrong.
I'm not saying that your fel armor will stop you being nuked by those pesky melee but it may give you more time to escape or port to safe place.
once ur back out of range go fel and hit em hard till they get to you again :)

I agree about survivability. I've been using a Felguard/Siphon Life build as my PvP build in the past few weeks. The Felguard provides an additional stun (CC) effect, and provides another, hard-hitting form of damage which continues, unless they switch their attention from myself to my pet.
However, I also know that I am armored like a Death Knight or Paladin's retarded younger brother. Even, with Demon Armor active. I don't want them hitting me at all, as a result. And so, I CC them as much as possible, and use my stamina/HP as a refillable damage-sink on the occasion that they do get some hits in... This, while I'm spooling up my next Fear. Usually, I Death Coil them, and then follow up immediately with Fear, and then my damage spells. (Unless, I've been able to get off CoA or CoE and then Corruption already) In this case,
doing more damage
, to kill them faster, has worked out as a better answer for my own playstyle in PvP. And, having a Felguard out (as another means of constant damage) has yielded better and more frequent kills for myself than using Haunt. It's like having a whole other DOT on them, which they can't dispel without killing myself or my Felguard.
As a result of dumping Deep Affliction for FG/SL, I've been able to stay alive much longer (especially, against Rogues) and get significantly more kills in the after-BG listing. And the spell rotation is utterly simple. I have nearly all of the spells I need on a single spellbar... which also means, I get them off much more quickly as well.
Remember that I also have Soul Link up, as well as the Master Demonologist talent to reduce my own damage taken by 5% and increase my damage given by 5%. (Which is even better than speccing into Molten Skin)
Oh, also, the health you get back from the Fel Armor ticks is every five seconds. 500 something health does not outweigh 2100+ armor plus an increase in all healing received.

I added a Glyph of Siphon Life, to give my passive self-healing some extra oomph, even before I start using Drain Life. And I can drop Corruption on several targets, in a massive hairball, and engage one for my Drain Life / Drain Soul. That means, 50% of each Corruption spell on each enemy is feeding me HP. And, I'm helping my teammates to take down their own targets a little faster.
I'm going to try my hypothesis for using Demon Armor against Casters and Fel Armor against Melee opponents. The FG/SL build also works effectively for me, against Casters, because they can't get off as many spells while taking damage, and they have
at least
two targets to deal with. Some of them panic and start running and/or Blinking. Which means, I've almost got their death in the bag. (The same seems to hold true for many Rogues... our bane in PvP)
(Edited for clarity and better explanation)
