Anyone else curious if this is a chance for you to get the kill faction leader achievements for your own faction?

You're missing the point. The game you're paying to play has changed, either you adapt or stop playing; it truly is that simple.
You're missing the point.
You order a steak at a restaurant, paying $15 for it. I come back, and serve you a pile of dog crap, dressed with parsley.
Don't like it? Too bad, I changed your order, now will that be visa or mastercard?

I tried in SW to do that, but the Argent Dawn healer was there, so as soon as you turn into a zombie and blow up or whatnot, they all get instantly cured, and I mean the whole room. It's a bit, meh, but oh wells :)

the point here is that you didn't order the steak. You misread the label, and in your mind, you thought you ordered the $15 steak, but you really ordered the chef's randomized meat-product. If he wants to throw a punchline at you, well, it was what you ordered. Shoulda read the description more carefully.
Go Chef Blizz.
edit: frankly, this particular Chef's choice is DELICIOUS...
I LOVE rotting brains.
Quoted for winsomeness.
