I hate how they're balancing the entire game around arena.
How would these changes affect someone outside of arena? In other words, if you're not an arena player, why do these changes bother you?
...meanwhile miners keep their extra stamina, skinners keep their extra crit, enchanters keep their ring enchants... do I need to go on?
Because no other profession benefits are useful in arena at all, right?Other profession-users complain about powerful on-use (not passive) benefits from engineers (
nitro
,
speed
) that are not being removed.
When in doubt, QQ!

I can see where it would bother engineers on pvp realms who benefit from those items at all times, doesn't much matter to me.

We have removed stealth detection from the following items:
All epic engineering goggles
It's not about spotting the rogue or feral druid.
It's about knowing he's already there.

By QQ are you referring to me or the other profession users? I'm just pointing out an imbalance. Blizzard say they want to remove any need to pick a particular profession for arena but they continue to nerf engineering while leaving the others untouched.
Ironically by doing this everyone will end up choosing JC and BS as their arena professions of choice
because of the powerful passive benefits.
Interestingly enough, I recently did an analysis of the top ten 2v2 priests in WoW (2700+ rating; see the full thread on the
priest forum
) to see what gear they chose (spirit or crit, for example), what talents they chose, enchants, etc. For professions, SIX of the ten were engineers. And of those six, ZERO had an engineering helm; they all wore the
Deadly Mooncloth Hood
. The engineers were all sporting the two tinkers (
hands
&
feet
). Only three of the priests were JC, and none were BS.
I'm not saying the goggles weren't useful, just that in the group of top arena priests in the "world," they weren't actually being used. It's a narrow sample in a narrow slice of PvP, but interesting nonetheless.

consider macro for helm switch? but other then that i bet it was little used anyway, and they felt not very strong to be honest from start on
he/she that get the first shot, have won half the fight
- unwriten law of stealth (but don't mean he won rest of the fight)

I understand not liking this change, but there are good changes to Engineering. The passive agility to the parachute cloak, the crit to the nitro boosts, both of those changes make using those tinker over an enchant worthwhile.
Shh. This is an engineering thread. QQ only please.
