Sunder is bad for getting quick aggro of a team members.
Taunt + Shield Block with a follow up Revenge isn't.
Revenge and Shield Block are guaranteed wins in tanking, so try to use those two alot.

expertise and hit rating will help a lot generating rage as it will make you miss less. If you are fury, spamming heroic strike seems to be the best for me.

what kind of skills will draw aggro off someone.
Taunt - This ability actually should be used when you lose aggro, it brings you to a level of threat equal to the number one person on the threat list & forces the mob to look at you temporarily; you
must
build threat immediately or you could lose it again
Sunder Armor - If you asked the avg. player they would probably tell you this is our best tanking move, it's far from true; this ability does less threat than Revenge (and many other protection talents)
Mocking Blow - like Taunt, it forces the mob to watch you, but it's not meant to be used entirely in the same way...it works by innate threat & damage, which are reduced in Battle stance (it's main drawback); it deals almost the same amount of threat as Sunder Armor
Thunderclap - better with talents, this ability is for survival & holding multiple targets; healers will still generate lots of agro, so use it often
or
throw Revenge/Sunder Armor on the mob when you get a chance
Cleave - a good damaging move for two mobs, learn to use it wisely to avoid nearly Sheeps (or move away altogether)

If I attatch a Mithril Spike to my shield, with that help generate rage?
It will help some, but only when you block. It's negligible. Honestly would be better off with +18 stamina or such & using a sharpening (or weight) stone. Adamantite weapon chain would also likely help since you're fury (good parry rate/weapons usually). Parry increases your next swing speed by 40-50%.
If players are pulling off you (with exception of healer,
maybe
) then it's their own damn fault if you're Tclapping & Cleaving. They need to learn to settle down & you shouldn't be worried about telling them to chill out -- you're the tank. As long as you are making a conscious effort to do your job well, you should be fully confident in asking players to play nice.
Just don't be condescending when you talk to them or you'll generally get *QQ* -> "dunt tell meh how to play meh class lolz" from insecure players (usually younger, immature).
One last thing, you mentioned you're Fury - Piercing Howl doesn't generate threat.

Great information, deeply appreciated!
You're very welcome.
I enjoy tanking in Berserker Stance, it's funner and I can gain aggro..but it seems to be a bit easier holding the aggro in Def Stance.
Berserker stance - you're actually generating more threat than other players by dealing damage, which inherently means you're not building enough threat against mobs when in defensive.
That's something that you'll be working on if you take everything into consideration while you level. Also, it will change dramatically with talents such as Tactical Mastery & Defiance.
You'll learn more about this as you level up, =) just know Berserker stance wasn't meant for tanking & you'll likely end up taking more damage than normal unless your gear really outlevels your dungeon.
Icedtc is a good man, very wise.

Can you Tank with that Spec?
What spec? If you mean Feeliks' spec posted above: yes, you can tank normal dungeons or off tank in raids just fine. I would say it is a poor, poor choice for heroics.
