I personally wasn't a fan of Grizzly Hills and Zul'Drak.
I usually get to NR at 68, Do all of Borean Tundra (yes all) Some of Howling Fjord (Enough for the 75 quest achieve) which puts you at about 73-75 depending on if you do instances, go to Dragonblight, do as much as I can, do Sholozar to 77 then get flyer and head to Storm Peaks to 80.
Done it almost 3 times now and it works great :D
Edit: Dragonblight is a must. Amazing quest at the end. Best one in NR in my opinion

I have a question, how is it that you managed to skip zangarmarsh in the outlands?

I have a question, how is it that you managed to skip zangarmarsh in the outlands? Very easy to get level 62 in Hellfire Peninsula alone, and that's when you go and do Terokkar.

I always had rested experience bonus....and found it very easy to hit max level early. I would suggest doing Borean Tundra first, then Howling Fjord, then Dragonblight. After that, Sholazar, then Grizzly.......you should be 80 before you do all that imho. From there, Storm Peaks and Ice Crown, and finish anything else you haven't for cash.
After you are 80, it's important to get Storm Peaks questing done so you can start rep with Hodir, same for Ice Crown with Ebon blade.
Now with the tourny dailies, you can do those as well when you hit 77?.....as they reward quiet a bit of gold and experience.
Personally, I wouldn't hang around in Outlands after 68, because the items and experience in Northrend is much better.

Same spot for me- I'm about to ding out of Outlands. But I did half of Zangar and even a touch of Nagrand just for the Ring of Blood. Since I leveled my first 80 through BT after a little HowlingF I'll probably do all of Howling Fjord and then head to Dragonblight. I did all of Grizzly Hills and will never do that again. Personally- I liked Zul'Drak did all the quests there and dinged 80 without ever stepping foot in Sholazaar, Ice Crown and just a taste of Storm Peaks.
And yes- Dragon Blight is a must as long as you can stand the white snow.

68-72 Borean Tundra
72-74 Howling Fjord
74-77 Dragon Blight
77-79 Zul' Drak
79-80 Scholazar Basin
80 Icecrown
This is how i went through the leveling. I completed SB in 5 hours of serious questing. I did not get the theater done in Zul'drak because everyone gets their guild to help and mine is always raiding.

Howling Fjord > Borean Tundra.
I've done both with 3 toons, but some of the stuff in BT makes a bit more sense after a few HF quests (For example, the Mist Vrykul's appearance in the Tundra).
Borean Tundra is... Long, tedious, and large, and the "Breadcrumb" quests you get in this zone go all over the place, unlike the nice, circular path Howling Fjord gives you.
I would, however, suggest at least coming back to the Tundra later. There's some interesting lore there.
i agree with this. i've levelled 3 toons to 80 as well and always found howling fjord the best to do first, THEN go to borean tundra. i believe borean tundra won't even give you certain quests until you are 70 (i could be wrong).
i found grizzly hills very boring and the quests too scattered compared to where the towns are located.
i also hated dragonblight by the second toon (with the exception of the kalu'ak quests and the dragonshrines).
my preference:
howling fjord
borean tundra
dragonblight (just enough to unlock what is needed later for rep and convenience)
zul'drak (just enough to hit 76 and grab all the flight paths)
sholazar basin (<3 sholazar)
storm peaks
icecrown
i usually hit 80 after a chain or two in storm peaks (due to covering everything in sholazar and being a dungeon junkie), but there are a lot of important places to unlock in both those zones, best not to skip them just because you hit 80.
good luck to you!

On my first trip to 80, it went something like this:
68-71.5: Howling Fjord, running Nexus and UK as much as possible.
71.5-73: Borean Tundra, running Nexus and UK as much as possible.
73-74.5: Grizzly Hills, running Nexus and UK as much as possible.
74-75: Zul'Drak
75-77: Scholazar Basin, running VH and AN as much as possible
77-78.5: Storm Peaks, running HoS and HoL whenever I could
78.5-80: Icecrown, running HoS and HoL whenever possible.
As you can see, I COMPLETELY skipped Dragonblight. On my server, several notorious gankers hang out there making questing nearly impossible... So I just skipped it. The trick to getting to 80
quickly
is just to do instances as much as humanly possible. The EXP/hour ratio is a bit higher than questing, plus you get phat bloo lewtz =D
Best of luck!

My DK dinged 80 upon delivering the last quest in Dragonblight.
That's right. Dragonblight.
I had done alot of instances. :-)

Borean has arguably the best quested weapon reward for DKs (unless you get super-lucky in Utgarde Keep) -
Axe of Frozen Death
. Also, quests in Borean yield plate with str/(sta)/crit, as opposed to those in Howling Fjord that yield str/(sta)/haste.
I've run Utgarde a good 35-40 times over 4 characters and never saw
Ingvar's Axe
.
