Question about PvP though: with the crit chance and damage reduction from Resil, is Haste better? or are the fights too short to see an actual extra shot or two from the added haste?
You won't be standing still to be able to shoot steadies/autos.
First comments were based on his question. For todays gear, that crit is low, for his situation, it's fine.
Still, Haste remains bad near other stats.

he probably has some extraordinary source of gold.
I just saved all the gold since WOTLK day 1 until I got bored to store it like "real money" waiting for something extraordinary to happen and spend it in a specific occasion. Studying gear on wowhead and loot tables I came to the conclusion that my gameplay style allows me to gear mostly with BOE/emblems items. That's why I have a sad crossbow 129DPS (as well as the nessy4000, bought 3 hours before the crossbow dropped obviously).
I saved gold since day zero of WOTLK and reached my patience limit. I wanted to get better gear without finding pugs for every piece, rolling all the time against others. The key factor was a PUG on OS25: the leader ninjaed the satchel and 2 plate items. Having to deal with PUGs means accepting good things and bad ones, I perfectly know this, but if the mail helmet dropped and I was stolen like that... well it's BAD.
So why not just upgrading most of my blue items with BOE iLevel 213/226 epics, if I had tons of cash to spend? I would spend months and months trying to get a loot. Take my leggings for example: Ulduar drop 25 man, BOE, 19% drop-chanche. So I would have to roll against a FULL raid (supposing it drops...) once a week.. and of course to access Ulduar I still need great gear. Someone can wait and hope, I am not like this.
WOTLK added many BOE items for 2 reasons: allow non-raiders to access amazing stuff and at the same time pay the bills of hardcore/constant raiders. Raiding requires gold, time, dedication, knowledge. Paying 8000K for my leggings was ok, they're worth the price. Someone spends 3K on a vanity pet, some drop 10K on a rare-useless recipe... It's all about enjoing the game.
You know that farming gold in wotlk is easy. Can be boring but if you need to get 1000G you can do it in less than 2 hours just killing mobs in specific places. No need to buy gold with real money, if that's what you mean. At all. Not to mention daily quests and the most profitable "gold per hour" thing: Argent Tournament.

Lawl @ Zakkhar. 1400g isn't expensive at all, and any level 80 with a crafting profession other than let's say Engineering can make that pretty quick, so give him a break. Sounds like you woke up on the wrong side of the bed today or somtehing.
Anyways, I'd suggest either getting into a decent guild where you can start raiding to get upgrades, or be one of the few people on the server that are guildless and know for being badass pugs. Both seem to work pretty well.
