With the cross server LFD you cant choose who you want to group up with so i dont think we will see people getting passed up for enchanters. Plus i dont see a problem with not having a DE in the group since the price of enchanting mats will surely drop once 3.3 comes out.

Enchanting mats aren't worth enough to make this even a sliver of an issue. I routinely pug with groups that have an enchanter, but they don't even bother to DE. They offer to, but people politely refuse and just greed for vendor.

The sky is not falling, enchanters won't go broke or have a reserved slot in groups, because the impact just isn't there despite what the chicken littles are saying.
For enchanters that were cool enough to de at the end of an instance, this saves them the hassle. I appreciate that.
For enchanters that tried to make money off DE in Dalaran, what little money we get from this we'll still get.
The only realistic fear is that the market will somehow be flooded with mats, which however unlikely could be easily remedied by putting a vendor sell price on the mats establishing a floor.

Really? Infinite Dust on MY server is 4-6 Gold each. So it isn't worth the time time DE that random green, that vendors for 6Gold, for up to 7 Dusts (ie 7x5G=35Gold)? What about shards that sell for even more, is it worth it for say 50Gold a pop?
You think shards would still go for 50g a pop if every drop in most of the heroics run got turned into one?
At the end of the day, people want shiny badges for shiny epics more than they want to squeeze every last piece of gold out of a heroic run. I don't think that people will care enough to worry about it too much.

on my server the infite dust sells for 10g a piece, the greater eternal essence sells almost for less lol. Selling enchanting mats is really lucritive if you know how to handle the market, some essence or dust sell very high if you go down somewhat in the ranking, i know the 50-60 dust/essence matches or surpasses the current mats.
but it is better to first of find an cheap crafted item to be remade for just dusting than it is to try to grind the items by killing mobs alot, if i remember right there is higher chance to get dust from armor items, then at weapon items, likewise the other way around, the percentage shifts somewhat. it is possible to get a dream shard from a green item, but it is not possible to get dust/essence from a blue item an so on.
