Anyways back on subject.
I've never truly trusted Wowhead's prices since every server is so different. That also could be because I always use auctioneer to help me with my prices anyways.
I've never trusted
any
sites' prices. :) Always better just to check the AH.

The prices we have on Wowhead are more to provide a general idea of the amount of money you can expect to get from selling some item at the AH.
When actually auctioning the item, you should always check your local (as in, the one on your realm) AH first.

I've found them nice to have, actually, just to give some impression of an item's value. But I do wonder where the prices come from ;) Ideally you'd want them to be some average of the realm prices which is refreshed over time, since the whole of wow does move on...

To further what I said:
Have a look at how much items are selling that are equivalent in level and color. I usually sort it by BG levels, eg, 30-39, so as to appeal to the twink population. If they're selling for a high number, great. Otherwise, better to just vendor.
Then there's the stuff that you always AH, no matter what. Works too. Might want to compare to also just vendoring it. :)

You should never take any website's item pricing as gospel. When trying to decide how much to sell something, I always check Wowhead, Allakhazam and Auctioneer and I usually manage to come up with a decent median price. On the other hand you never know when you can get a lot more (or less) than you expect. I always feel free to give items a crazy buyout, but try to keep the bidding price reasonable.
