I pull 4k self buffed, 5-6 on Patchwerk. I'm

Yes, because Naxxramas 25 is still relevant. Run raids with better players.
Since you're not intelligent enough to interpret this as intended, I meant that Patchwerk is a good boss for measuring your DPS as opposed to some stupid dummy...nowhere did I say Naxx was relevant to present raiding standards. Stop putting words in my mouth, and learn to comprehend.

I smell a troll...
Blizzard has already confirmed that hybrid DPS classes will always do less DPS than pure DPS classes. This has been broken somewhat by Death Knights who can throw down some nasty DPS, but in general it stays true for Shamans, Priests, Paladins, and Druids.
This is what Blizzard intended. There isn't really anything to confirm or deny it. This is probably measured, though, considering ideal circumstances, rotations, gear, and possibly procs. Meaning that if you put an enhance shaman next to a rogue in a completely ordinary fight and they were both the best players of their class and fully geared, the rogue should win by a small margin by completely accurate dps charts.
That being said, I can push some pretty good numbers on many normal fights. I'm not going to go around saying how I am the best in the guild or the worst in my guild, and any of that would certainly not be due to my class. Enhance is, in fact, a very viable PvE spec.

I generally pull around 6k-6.5k dps on, say, Lord Jaraxxus or Anub'Arak.
Our top dps is usually a fury warrior doing about 7.5k-8k dps, followed by two mages each doing about 7k, followed by myself an an unholy DK.
I can't comment on Rogues because... we have none.

In answer to the OP's question, yes being Enhancement as a shaman is VERY viable for endgame content with the ability to pull upwards ~7k dps in the right gear.
Now some IMO stuff:
It takes alot more situational awareness on most fights because of being melee but to me, that makes it that much more fun. Enhance also has a more involved priority rotation than Elemental, which adds in to the mix to keep you busy. I love being Enhancement.
Also, yes, as a hybrid class (and the bastard child of Blizzard that none of the Dev's love) in equivalent gear against an equally skilled player, we will never consistantly out do a pure dps class, or even some other hybrid specs for that matter. I.E. In my guild, I'm the only enhance shaman and I can do better than a Boomkin but our only feral druid does almost as much as one of our top DPS which happens to be a Rogue. I hear that feral druid rotations are horribly complex but, if mastered, a Feral Cat can do a great amount of DPS. This seems to be very true seeing as how much he does.
I have not yet once topped the DPS charts against the rest of the pure dps (and dk's and the one feral) in my guild even when I was equally geared and, I know I never will because if the pure dps is worth any of their salt, they will always be above a Shaman. We support them and I'm fine with that. Only thing I wish for is the ability to tank. Then I'd really not need another class except for SnG. Heal, Dps, Self rez, walk on water and hearth every 7.5 minutes plus tank? Yes please.
