woah,woah,woah,woah,woah,woah,woah,woah,woah....... lois this is
not
my batman glass! What the hell we lose Menethil harbor too?
All we know is that the Wetlands will go through some transformations. Exactly what those transformations are has yet to be determined, anyone who says otherwise is just speculating.
As for Stormgarde, I think it's possible it'll be retaken, at least in part. That zone isn't the worst off, but it could definitely use some modifications here and there.

I know this thread is not really alive at the moment but, oh well....
So thanks mmo-champion, I had the chance to see a lot of pictures about Cataclysm
alpha
. What I can confirm is that Menethil Harbor will be destroyed.
I saw a picture about Stromgarde, and it was the same as it is right now. Note: on another picture I could see an intact Southshore as well.
So here are the three possibilities regarding Stromgarde: 1. Nothing changes. 2. As of Alpha changes are not yet implemented. 3. The changes will only take effect after a certain quest -thanks to the worshipped phasing system.
You were looking at a sandbox, not the live client.

still, if there were changes to stromguard, it would likely be apparent, either through banners, changes in architecture, "accessories", etc. His point is that it doesn't look like anything has changed so far. but yeah, when we get to live it'll be easy to tell by what mobs are present.

Even then, it's still 'early' in the Alpha, not everything has been changed yet after all; he said that he saw the intact Southshore after all, and that was confirmed months ago to be destroyed by the tidal wave from the Cataclysm.

you gave yourself your answer right there.
A: what you saw was a sandbox, wich means no phasing, no scripted events, no props or objects or NPC or nothing whatsoever.
B: what you saw was a sandbox of an EARLY ALPHA (AKA cataclysm fetus) wich (and believe me I've seen it 100% as I downloaded it myself and sandboxed it) only has 30% of azeroth changed.
there's 26 zones in the eastern kingdoms, plus the new ones being added (Deepholme and Twillight highland) and yet, as of the current alpha only 11 have shown any changes (with some of those 11 having only a minor fraction of a change)
and there's 20 zones in kalimdor plus the new 2 zones added (hyjal and uldum) but only 12 have displayed any change at all......
moral of the story: wait till more is released before drawing conclutions.
Blizzard said that NO ZONE would be left untouched, that some would suffer changes more drastic than others, but NONE would remain unchanged. The fact that still 23 zones in the old world are COMPLETELY unchanged shows just how early this alpha build is, and that more builds have to be released for us to actually see the real cataclysmic azeroth.
in fact, most of the changed zones in eastern kingdoms only display minor changes like a crater here, or a scorched land there, only EK zones to fully change so far are West plagelands, blasted lands, and somewhat East plagelands.
this build was more centered arround kalimdor, because barrens, ashenvale, darkshore, and tousand needles are completely unrecognizable.
also,HOLY DARK NECROMANCY BATMAN! you rezzed a thread that had half a year dead.
(PD: he he he, made me remember the good'ol user cataclysm3 who joined the very same day cataclysm was oficially announced, and made about 100 posts a day on every conciveable thread, I always wondered where he had gone to :P)
