For starting out, I highly recommend using Swords, and investing points into Subtlety. This build is what I did while I worked towards my twenties and it really, really helped me out a lot;

I went combat/swords to start.
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=fZG0VWent on a lot of VC runs to get dual
Cruel Barbs.
I personally found leveling as combat easier than the other 2 trees. You can kill multiple targets easier once you get Blade Flurry.

I would recommend using combat swords.
I cannot tell you how many times Blade Flurry has saved my ass from dying, since it hits 2 targets at a time, and it hits fast, and lasts 15 seconds with only a 2 min. cool down.
Combat potency (farther down the tree) is an incredibly useful passive, which has a 20% chance to restore 15 energy (at max level) with every off hand attack. It procs (or activates) extremely often, and can be you best friend is drawn out battles.
Another good ability is Adrenaline Rush, which gives you a 100% energy regeneration rate, which is good if you are close to dying and need that last Eviscerate to finish off your enemy.
The other great thing about the Combat tree is that it improves your Sinister Strike move with multiple abilities, (Blade Twisting, Surprise Attacks, Aggression, all passives).
It also has (if you are combat swords) the sword specialization, which gives you a chance to deal an extra attack on the same target.
I cannot say much about Subtlety or Assassination, but I have heard both of those lean more towards PvP, while combat is a PvE oriented spec.
It's all up to you and the way you play however.
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=fhxZMeV0rVzxrGRtx Here is a link to a build, if you want to try daggers you can substitute the Dagger Specialization for swords.
Combat daggers is handy for its 5% critical strike increase, but offers no extra attacks through sword spec.
Combat daggers is also fun for backstab, and ambush, two skills you don't get to use with swords.

So I just got the talent tree tab and I'm so confused on what trees to put points into..
I am on Anvilmar (PvE) and I am a human rouge.
I know this may be quite general, but if someone could post some different talent builds with some explanations, it would be great.
Thanks alot!
I think I am mainly be goign to use daggers.
