Even for disc priest the nerfs are small.
The biggest lose is Rapture, instead a more unique system based on int Disc priest now need to stack more spirit for mana regen.
But with all the changes to Disc talent you get more talents for the same amount of points, or less point.
I'm sure a real Disc priest can tell you a lot more, but this patch is more a change of how things worked then real nerfs.

The changes will bring the better disc priests out of the wood work compared to the ok disc priests. Just as the CoH nerf did with holy.

binding heal on patch? did you tank?

He probably did it for bigger heals than flash heal. ie, just to run out of mana-faster, b.heal is just bigger for expense than f.heal. 27% vs 16%. It's a good way to show your bad self how much regen you have. :D

Well I don't think the rapture changes will be too bad, I’m just going to get more spirit on my gear which won't be too hard since almost all the cloth gear has it. I always hated dodging spirit I want, to want spirit. I wish they would add an extra bonus to our spirit like all the other clothies have, like 10% spirit=spellpower or, intellect or, critical strike rating even haste would be fine with me.
Anyways I think we will be fine we will just have to watch our mana a little more closely and, we have a lot of buffs comeing up too so it shouldn't be too bad:)
Edits for typing.

I played on the PTR, and we're not nerfed, Blizzard is just making the game more challenging. They're right in nerfing Spirit regen, because as a Holy priest, I barely ever go OOM, and rarely use my Shadowfiend, unless it's a healing-intensive fight like Patchwerk. "Cast an HoT then sit back and regen" is what they said, and they're right =P

Holy priests are pretty much the most powerful healer now. At least in Ulduar with all the raid damage...

binding heal on patch? did you tank?
you do realize that binding heal does like 25% more healing, same cast, more mana cost but if you have no mp5 problems then why not spam it :S
Errr.... what?
Binding heal compared to two flash heals is:
Same healing
100% faster
75% mana cost
Sounds great eh! But... the half of the healing is always on you. Always! In a fight like Patchwork you get zero damage, so every binding heal is 50% overheal. Basically you are healing the same of spamming Flash Heals, only spending more mana, which didn't matter anyways.
So where did you come up with the 25%?

Your main heal on patchwerk should be Prayer of Mending. It should have bounced 5 or 6 times by the time you can use it again.

For those of you who only do heroic 5 mans and the occasional 10man, I have yet to go OOM as holy, and yet to go OOM as Disc. Both are insanely fun, both are different play styles, and I encourage everyone to experiment with either and see which one suits your playstyle.
I feel I performed equally well with either, but like the above posters said, you have to play smarter with cooldowns and which spell to use for which time.
At this point in time, that challenge is SO WELCOME. Healing has become fun again.
On a side note, I have also yet to go OOM with Shadow, too. I'm pulling in 2k DPS in 5 mans, and closer to 2.2k in 10 mans. My gear isn't all that I'd say (link below for Leonardo) but good god it's been a lot of fun. Shadowfiend and Dispersion rock.
Oh yeah... and dual spec ftw.
