Its sort of depressing - there hasn't been a solid adventure RPG game in a while that has had a hardcore aspect to it. I'm beginning to long for that thrill you get when you walk into a dark dungeon and don't know whether you're going to lose it all. I know diablo 3 is coming out and that should be solid, I just wish it wasn't taking so long.

I played Fallout 3. It was fun the first play through learning what was what, those of those super mutants kicked my ass, but the second play through once I knew what was what... I really just didn't die. It was fun while it lasted, so I guess I shouldn't say there hasn't been one at all, it just didn't last long compared to some of the other adventure games like Dungeon Siege or Diablo. Also, the lack of group play was sort of disappointing, but whatever.
Dragon Age looks alright, I might get it, my roommate is getting a copy so I'll wait and see what he thinks about it before thinking about whether its worth buying a copy or not.
I heard about torchlight. Looks alright, its rated relatively well but I don't really know how much depth there is to it.

Fable 3 has been announced. I hope that Lionhead can improve on some of the factors that made Fable 2 as easy as it was... and that they make it longer than Fable 2.

If you're into, or even open to, tabletop RPGs I'd recommend Hackmaster from Kenzer & Co. Sort of based on 2nd Edition D&D, but with more "hack factor". You could get everything you'd need for about the same price as a PS3 game, and if you end up liking it you can play it for years. If you don't, you're only out the price of a regular video game.
Yeah... I wish I had people to play dungeons and dragons with... but the way it is, most of my friends who would be interested, would rather just do dailies in WoW than actually have fun : /
That's why I'm looking forward to Diablo 3, because I'll be able to play online with my brothers.

Heh, you want Hardcore? Go back and play the Nintendo version of Final Fantasy 1; nothing like a game where you could be wiped out during any of the fights during the first 5 levels.
