I agree with the consensus. I will overlook spelling issues with certain words and in certain places. Someone whispering me and misspelling atrocious is fine. Someone misspelling ANYTHING in their guild name is not acceptable.
I got a ginvite to Gaurdains of Azeroth on my druid the other day.
I lol'ed and declined for that exact reason.
I'm right there with you.
I also face-palm the recruitment messages. "<I can haz spleing gut> is a matture giuld lookig for experenced players who want to join or guild."
If it is actually too hard for you to, at the very least, dump your message into a text editor and run a quick spell check before you try to advertise to people, I want nothing to do with you.

Just like that chef would gag at the thought of trying to choke down a leathery microwaved day-old piece of mystery meat from the local convenience store "food" mart, these grammar gourmands cringe at reading some of the stuff posted here.
Oh, and since your entire post was grammatically correct (kudos!), I'll take to correcting your form. It should be "Just like that chef
who
would gag...".
=D
Something that bothers me much more than poor grammar is when anyone attempts to "correct" things that aren't wrong! The sentence is fine; the intention was to compare the actions (specifically, the gagging and cringing), not the people themselves. Therefore, to insert "who" there would actually make the sentence incorrect.
Sorry, just had to put my two cents in! :)

It's not "Oh you spelt this certain word wrong" it's people who type like this: "hey guis u wnt beleeve wht happnded lst noight" It's makes me cringe to think these people function properly.

As long as I can read/comprehend whats being said, I'm fine. Although clean and clear messages would make things easier.
