I can see the whole goblin becoming a death knight thing sorta working because they are everywhere in K3, but the Worgen thing is completely ridiculous. You're talking about a whole colony of people sealed behind barred doors, through the whole scourge invasion, and lasting through the end of the scourge (speculation). They are going to walk out of their little town and not know a damned thing about the scourge, so how can they become deathknights? death knights were born to serve the lich king. they were given a second chance by Arthas himself, so when he's gone, why would someone sacrifice their afterlife to continue to fight. doesnt make much sense. but, i guess ill just have to treat WoW like i treat the military. just smile and nod, and try to ignore the fact that nothing makes sense and pure logic and common sense are liabilities.
A post like this makes me wonder why I even care explaining this :P
WoW Death Knights are heroes that died in Eastern Plaguelands (ie. around level 50-55), gets "resurrected" and continues from there - just as a Death Knight. That's why every race can become them, as every race at that point has been level 50-55.
It
is
common sense actually.

If you don't get the worgen thing you obviously don't know their lore. No, they escaped behind their wall Before the Third War, before the scourge problem even began. The curses happened afterwards, as escapee's from Argual's experiments got on the other side of the wall somehow and began transforming the people there. Seeing as the Wall isn't suppose to come down till the Cataclysm breaks it open, there would be no Worgen death knights at that point....
However, what they could have, is a group of Human Death Knights, taking the sea route, could have been attacked, and somehow the worgen curse still affects the non-living as well as the living, so they could have been infected that way.
Hmm... You win.

Death Knights are fallen heroes who's souls are bound to the Lich King.
Tell me again how it is that Draenei, Worgen, and Goblins can't die?
Thank you, finally someone who gets it :P

what about the whole worgen town in silverpine...i;m pretty sure some of them have been killed even before TBC, so you figure they would join forces with whom they fell safe like say the faction of worgen that joins the alliance. And arthas does res arugel before wrath comes out. Theres a quest that shows you that in griz hills. And goblins are everywhere. I'm pretty sure they see no money in the ebon hold. Then see goblins with the horde and other dks there and feel hey a group that won't run away from us ie profit. Speaking of worgen what about regular humans being turned into worgen on their way to the plaguelands somehow then die. The wall to gilneas was built during the scourge invasion. Maybe not all of the people wanted to hide maybe some wanted to fight with the rest of the human kingdoms. It is just a peninsula after all. Not like they had to stay there

It's all about seperating additions to lore from modifications of excisting lore.Your expecting a bit too much of them Gnub heh. After all, Shaman Goblins and Warlock Worgen? Those make just as much sense as the DK's lol.
Worgen warlock make perfect sense. If you go to duskwood, there are plenty of warlock worgen there. Plus humans can be warlocks, so that means that worgen can.
And Goblin shaman.
Just because they are greedy money makers does not mean they cannot be shamans. They live on an island, where you would get all the elements. They have lived and worked closely with orcs and trolls, and tauren too, who are all shamans.
Besides, you can't sterotype a race saying, All goblins are greedy money makers who have no respect for nature. That just the Venture co goblins.

about the cataclysm event it happens afterwards the lich king's defeat. i've already read a blue post somewhere about that. if i find it ill paste it here
Looking forward to seeing that post, because it would make zero sense if it did. Leveling characters will be a world that was changed after the Lich Kings defeat - before they even see him in Northrend? Please.
(And yes, the more or less complete quest-revamp was only Azeroth (ie. level 1 to 60 content)

Why can't here be Worgen of Goblins Death Knights:
1. We haven't seen any of them.
Not a reason. Just because you've never met one, doesn't mean they don't exist.
2. Goblin and Worgen weren't around to be made into DK's.
Not a reason. Goblins are an existing race and could, and some probably were, turned by the LK. It would be stranger for a race to be immune to seduction by the LK. Why wouldn't the LK accept goblins if he accepted gnomes?
The Worgen mostly live behind the Wall in Gilneas. No Worgen has ventured out from behind the Wall. This is how I currently understand the Lore to be, but my (or all our) understanding could be off.
But couldn't the LK('s minions) have ventured into Gilneas to recruit Worgen as DK's? It's not like he could be held back by a little Wall. IIRC playing a DK starts in the DK stronghold, but nowhere is it mentioned where you were recruited. Could be while leveling in the Badlands someone shows up with a 'great deal'.
Lorewise I don't see why Goblins, Worgen, Murloc, Kalu'ak or any other (known or unknown) race in Azeroth/Outlands couldn't have been recruited as DK's. As long as they were on Azeroth/Outlands during the Wrath of the LK or could be reached by him.
If a new race shows up from another dimension and there is no way for any contact to have existed between the LK and that dimension during the Wrath of the LK, then it would be odd for members of that race to be DK's created during Wrath.
I'd love the play a Murloc DK.

So, in conclusion - you read the first post of the thread, totally disregarding the replies... right?
*shrug* - and it just keeps on going.
