I believe I went over it pretty clearly in the DW Frost DPS Thread. It has to do with scaling of gear and weapons once you get to raiding. In heroics there isn't much of a difference. In Raids, unholy just does better. Butchery and Bladed Armor are significantly worse in terms of over all dps than Necrosis/BcB/Ravenous Dead.
The purpose behind epidemic is simple the less often I have to reapply a disease the more Obliterates I get to use. More Obliterates = Awesome.
BcB/Necrosis are about 8 percent of your total damage there isn't another talent that = that amount of damage. Sure PS crits stink but it's just so you can get Ravenous dead.
Blood gives more crit to an already High crit tree so the Diminishing returns means that as your gear gets better it gets worse.

frost/blood on twin valkyrs 25 man: 10800 dps
frost/unholy on twin valkyrs 25 man: not even 9k.
thats for a 2750 rated gear on wow-heroes
both same raid setup same strat (HM strat)
subversion+dark conviction >>>> any other talent on the unholy tree
bladed armor >>>> ravenous dead whenever u dont wait for the army CD (1 use on the whole raid)
70% obliterate crit does the rest.
on other bosses the difference becomes higher:
on 2 separate trys on council hard mode (tank & spank for any melee)
frost/unholy 5700dps
frost/blood 6500 dps

Pichu - you are the only person I have ever seen post that great of a difference in favor of Blood Subspec over unholy. I would like to see you unholy spec and the parse sheet on that fight. If you don't have the parse sheet, I am sorry, but I just can't see that happening unless you really screwed up the rotation.
