Fist weapons for Hunter?
Return to board index
Post by

Question:
I have an Alt. Hunter. Born to PvP.
I really hate the look of the 2H weapons, i.e. Gladiator's Decapitator.
I like a bit more the Gladiator's Painsaw.
But I LOVE the Gladiator's Left Ripper and Right Ripper. They are cool.
Ok now the question: do I (overall) lose a lot of stats by using these two weapons on my hunter? Compared to the Painsaw, for example?
I mean: not "pure stats" but maybe different enchants I can put on them, etc.
And, yes, we need a weapon with HIGH max damage so in melee we can hit for more, but I have to admit that in melee I die pretty fast. Rogues use me as a toy, apparently.
Thanks for any suggestion!

Stay away from fist weapons. Keep a hard-hitting two hander.
Several times I'll get a clothie on the edge of death and they will charge at me. With the deadzone eliminated, this isn't really a problem anymore. But what if all my useful shots are on cooldown (arcane, multi, scatter, silencing) and auto shot isn't going to fire before they are too close? A critical raptor strike will finish them off. I've had some nice raptor strikes of over 1000 before.
All that to say, use a two-hander. Doesn't really matter what it looks like :-D

For one, if you are going for looks, fist weapons are going to suit you because they are sheathed when you aren't using them, so you can't see them at all.
you also want to go for the hardest hitting weapon out there for your wing clip/raptor strike. I've killed many a rogue and caster when they run in to get away from the barrage of shots, only to get pounded by a 1.5k raptor strike crit.
You'd only be gimping yourself by taking fists for pvp.
