How's that for rough? =D
So I take it that SD is better then a shield. More detail would ofc always be better but that's good enough for me ;)
Related to this question:
Druid tanks are said to have the least overall damage reduction of all tanks. Is this just a prejudice which was carried on from pre-WotLK or is it still valid these days?
Overall avoidance on Druids is slightly lower then for other classes as far as I know (right? very high dodge but no parry) but with SD being superior to shields and the generally very high armor Druids have this might even out in the end, right?
Is there a way to get the overall damage reduction that different (tanking) classes get (which would ofc depend on the gear, I guess something like this might exist somewhere for BiS gear)?

This is common opinion, but it is just opinion -- In the recent "Druid Q&A" with Ghostcrawler, he confirmed the old common opinion the Bears were Overpowered in TBC, and even hinted that we may be Overpowered again in 3.2! (I don't think I was the only one surprised by this)
But it may just be that we're all sufferering from
grass-is-greener
syndrome, since we really were quite powerful in the latter days of Burning Crusade (How many times has Blizz
invented a debuff
specifically to counter 1 class?).

I think you guys are very knowledgeable of this very fun and particular class called druid tanking; however, nobody has explained the mechanics behind pulling a 3 or 4-mob group of trash. After properly marking what should go down first (skull), then the next kill (x), and so on, how do you apply the different learned abilities, like Lacerate, Mangle, Maul to them? How should they be applied as you go rotating around each single mob? I hope my question is clear.
For a multi-pull in HCs it is more then sufficient most of the time to just spam Maul + Swipe. It is very convenient and unless the dps are extremely well geared they never manage to get threat.
If you want to maximize your threat generation then you will want to start with FF + Mangle + Lacerate on your main target, make sure they are always up while spamming Maul and Swipe. You don't need to stack Lacerate to 5, having 1 is more then enough for trash.
On bosses you basically do the same with the difference that you want to stack Lacerate to 5 before starting to use Swipe (and Maul on every attack and don't let Mangle or the Lacerate stack drop off).
In short:
Always use Maul on every attack.
Easy trash: Just spam Swipe, with decent gear that's more then enough. No need to worry about other stuff.
Not so easy trash: FF, Swipe to get threat on enemies, Mangle, 1x Lacerate on the main target, then continue to spam Swipe, FF Mangle 1x Lacerate on the secondary target after the primary one is down and then swipe more and so on
Boss: FF, Mangle, Lacerate to 5, use FF and Mangle on every cooldown and make sure the Lacerate stack never dropps off, use Swipe the rest of the time (or make it easier for yourself and just use Lacerate the rest of the time, the difference in damage/threat isn't really significant and you don't have to worry about the Lacerate stack anymore ... I'm generally lazy ;) ).
I have to admit I haven't tanked large raids yet, it's only my off spec (~ilvl 200). But at least for HCs this works perfectly and even when running with well geared dps I have quite a big threat lead on omen.

Funny, neither Parrazel nor MegaVolt ever mentioned the talent "Berserker" at all! Would it be that it is not worth talenting that? Thanks both for sharing your experience.
Berserk of cause is awesome but since it's on a rather long cooldown it is not part of the "standard" rotation.
Just use it when you feel some extra damage / threat is useful and then spam Mangle.
I especially like to top dps charts in short boss fights using it ;) And it is beyond awesome in the insanity part in the old kingdom (final boss).
