Emblems and weapon

As we
know
, best emblems do not give weapon - only armour.
Isn't this HUGE bias towards casters, given that the classes that use weapon for actual hitting depend most of all on weapon itself.
This is not some I-want-justice-whine; I ask this question so that I can decide what class to play once I start again, and this time i will have
very
little time to play.

Considering casters get the biggest chunk of spellpower on their gear from their weapon this is kind of a moot argument

It is not an argument, more like a question. Since I'm not arguing, but asking for help.
Also, I didn't know that fact about casters' weapon - after comparing casters' weapon with their robes, I see most stats indeed are on their weapon.
Yet, for non-casters, damage on the weapon is far more important than stats on it - so I still do think my concern holds some truth - I'd still say that not having latest weapon is bigger problem for non-casters.
And to add that I ask this because mage and rogue are possible choices for playing with very limited playtime, so I guess I can live better without that latest staff than without that latest dagger.

Here's three ilvl 200 off-hands you can buy with emblems.
Kind of a weak argument, I know.

Didn't even see those, I was looking after gear for Emblem of Conquest, but forgot to specify.
The irony is, that I might even play warrior - most gear dependent - simply because I might find spot in dungeon/raid runs easier...

Well here you go: You can get a ilvl 219 weapon for any class/spec in heroic TOC 5 man and you will also be able to get an ilvl 232 version in heroic ICC 5 mans :D

I hope that you mean you might roll a warrior so you could tank--because with all the DKs and paladins already in the mix, another plate-wearing DPS isn't going to exactly be in demand.
I do agree with you
to a degree
about melee vs caster/ranged weapons--for example, an Enhance shaman will need not only the best weapons possible, but the
slowest
posssible--making gearing them slightly more difficult than gearing, say, a hunter (who can use most of the same weapons and then some, but worries only about the stats on a weapon and not its speed). Same case applies to other classes, such as DW DKs and rogues who require particularly slow or fast weapons. But as others have said, the biggest chunk of stats for any character comes from their weapon.
This sums it up quite nicely. And yes, warrior was meant to be tank.
Apart from speed, there is also type of weapon for arms warrior, for example, while rogue see weapon as either daggers or "other".
